<div class="IPBDescription">Would you use it?</div> Think about it, I'll add my thoughts in after I see what you guys have to say.
Basically, a "quicksave" function... and obviously, load.
Eh?

I'd probably reload from my very first save; there's a lot of my life I probably wouldn't want to relive but it'd be cool to do things differently with all the hindsight I've gathered over the years <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Then again, while dreaming is nice, just living with the way things are and getting on with it is always a heck of a lot more rewarding in the end =3

I'd probly mess up and save right before I fall to my death or something, and end up having to keep reloading but never finding a way to not die. OR end up saving like right before some massive orgasm and going back over and over simply because I can.

Lol, i'd be sure to save in a very safe place, then go out and commit all of the terrible acts I wish I could actually get away with. And once I get caught, just reload.

Does this load function automatically work? Like, say if I die...will it auto load my most recent save? Also, please tell me there is no autosave function either.

    Wow, really not what I expected <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Would life be worth living if anything you could do would be acceptable, since you can go back and re-do it? No rules, no guidelines, no goals, no desire, no purpose, no achievement. Sure, it might be fun for the first few days - but how would you feel later, when you have the power to do anything, and you've already tried everything?

Now, a question similar to this. Right now, you can decide whether you would have this ability to save/load, or not. Forever, starting from the beginning of your life. Would you choose to have it, or not? Keep in mind, that if you choose not to get this, you'll never get it in the future, and if you choose to have it, similarly, you'll be stuck with it for the rest of your life (the ability).

very interesting, I think after a long time you would reach a sort of state of self-reflection on what you have become. I think if this happened to me, I would have a sort of philosophical reformation and lead my life tooootally differently after I had abused the save-game feature so much. Like become a monk and explore my mind or something.

that depends on whether other people also have or don't have the ability.

*edit* although it can be argued that i could just re-load until the algorithm seed determines that no one else has it except me.

So, kind of like Buttefly Effect?

    ...except without the bad effects.

There's some choices I certainly would have made over, but that's life. I think it'd be fun to re-live life over again, once I died.

Your wrong there would be a goal. Ultimately your goal would be perfection. Eventually you would get sick of going back, if that's possible, and end up tweaking your life until you molded it into the perfect life, then you could go longer and longer periods with out using save at all. E.G. RPG's once your a high enough level who has the fear of dying, AKA rich enough, enough bodygaurds, powerful enough there would be no worries and you wouldn't even have to use save unless you really screw up.

I would take it for sure. You can always stop using it if you get bored or decide to take life as a challenge. But you've always got backup if you need it.

But I would rather have a remote control for life. Fast forward could be handy in a lot of boring situations and I would pause all the time.

You're basically asking us if we travel back in time and correct our mistakes if we could. <i>Of course!</i>

Who hasn't wanted to, at least once in their life? The problem is, will you ever be able to live with yourself knowing that the people you know from the <i>rewind</i> aren't technically the same as you once knew? It'd bug me to hell, it would <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

Having the ability to reload would be really friggen awesome. I could learn *everything* with the infitie time I'd have. And then I could use my knowledge and abilities for EVIL! MUHAHAHAHA!

of course I would use the save feature as many times as I could so to try and help me improve my overall score

I think for most people having the power to "undo" things or simply go back and try again would have the same effects that is shown in movies like Hollowman or other movies/stories where people turn invisible/immortal:

While in Hollowman the character changes in a way to live out all the agression and desires, because noone can catch/see him, being able to undo things would have a similar result I think. A lot of things one could do without fearing consequences... stealing, raping, killing, just to name 3. Basically the life (especially the ones of other people) would become more and more worthless; it's just a "klick" and they are back.

Of course I'd like to have such an option.. there are quite a lot of things in my past that I wish I didn't do or had done in another way. And of course I would save before every important test/exam and then load the savegame to find out the right answers <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'd probably just save as soon as possible, and have it as a backup for when I was dying and wanted to keep on living.

Of cause, if it's not possible to AVOID loading when you die, I'd probably be a little less sure about it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Don't give me that "You can't make everything perfect" lecture! You know you would use a save-game feature if you could! Who wouldn't? Besides, it isn't like you are sacrificing anything. It is a bonus super-power. If you wanted to die (and not reload) you could.

A better question would be something like, would you want to be invisible? That actually has drawbacks, since I can't imagine you'd want to be invisible for the rest of your life. I mean sure you'd sneak into women's lockerrooms or get to places you normally couldn't go before, but I mean after a while, you might actually want to be seen. What woman would marry an invisible guy? A blind woman perhaps. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

well the butterfly effect.... u can go back and change key points in your life but if you had no major key points, that would change your life then the chances are you'll end up the same possibley with more cuts and bruises etc

altho i would deffinatly abuse it... especailly as i can save before lottery and load up after i got the numbers making me rich rich i tell you mwhahahaha

also if i had a job interview etc, save before hand if **** up just re-do it untill i get it right

EDIT: ahhh the possibilities are endless... i'm now going to find away to make it happen <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Lottery wouldn't work. They'd chose new random numbers.
  • GeminosityGeminosity :3 Join Date: 2003-09-08 Member: 20667Members
maybe but you'd get the money you spent on it back every single time you reload so you could just keep trying using lots of money; you'd get it eventually =D

if i had the save game feature i'd definitely get trail guide status. Grueling pace, meager rations, no dysentery, 255 boxes of bullets (can never have enough of those), and caulking the wagon every step of the way!

    ...wait, wrong game.

thats not true it would work.. the numbers are random and it has already happened.. so therefore if u rewind time, then it should turn out exactly the same as nothing has effected the balls... although if it did turn out different then there would be some weird rift in time because if its been played out like that then it should play it out again.... or so i think

EDIT: if its just me going back then nothing should change but if everything around me goes back aswell then it would change

2nd EDIT: PS i would deffinatly go on a killing spree cos if i knew that i could bring life back then i would deffinatley take full advantage.. for instance.. some kids i hated since school stab hes dead... *rewind* alive again Stab *dead* drewind alive again.. etc etc, untill i get bored and do it to sumone else
