Must admin seeing bot in action (first post) it looks utter crap: its slow very slow i would say it is not even close to proto tpye stage it cant turn fast its weapons are weak and slow.
Sorry but its true its some ones idea of a mech but it is not functional
Mechs, to me, would only make sense at extremely large sizes, like 100 stories tall. However, as already mentioned, such a Mech would be very vulnerable to air attacks. Then again, if you're in the business of terrorizing civilians, you really don't have to worry about air attacks. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
As far as bipedal robots go, I could certainly invision a robot being useful as part of a squad of soldiers, even if all it does is follow them around carrying supplies.
One big problem with thes fellas, if they fall over they don't get up and they must take an age to turn look how how a human turns the robots you posted due to tehre mechanisms cannot turn becuase tehre legs only go up and down they cant twist they are unversatile and poitless in combat there will never be a milatry use for they becuase tanks will do the job a lot better than mechs can

/me wants a tachikoma.
I admitedly don't know squat about physics, but a multileged mech/robot/what have you seems much more efficent then a simple bipedel.
You can take off a leg and it still works.
You can't knock it over with out blowing off a few of its legs.
The wheel system that it usses makes it more effective in both uneven and even terain.
The mechs that Sheena posted (the ones by John Deer) folow that concept to some degree.
And yah, they might not be perfect for combat, but actual combat is only a small part of life/war. Yes most operations are dominated by the air atm, but they are still generaly coordinated with ground crews as well (be it search and rescue, transportation or people or suplies or what ever else)
I'm sure if you made the thing big enough, (big like, BAM! Costco-size in lenght, if not more) You could load the joints and what not with loads of armor, and even different kinds. Like how this green robot here, has giant bulks in key areas, but this is assuming that building one of these is strategicly viable. Which is highly unlikel.
The best course of action is obviously to build a death star and blow your opponents planet to smeg.

Mechs are a feasible combat weapon. They have the ability to destroy enemy aircraft with ease, as well as take down ground units. Their size would give them the ability to hold a vast and flexible array of weaponry.

I mean, Battletech encourages versatile loadouts. All everyone fields in MW4 is either...

B) Missile Boats
C) LBX-AC20 spammers.
In B.Tech, none of these things work. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
They also murdered the Mad Dog, by turning it into 'The Support' clan mech. It's a Heavy mech, ffs, it's meant to be leading most assaults. Assault class mechs are rare, and only deployed for heavy brawling.
If I could find people nerdy enough to play stuff like Battlemech with, I'd be a Battlemech nerd too! Until I find those nerdy people, I'm stuck with being a metal nerd.

To be fair, Metal Gear Rex's gigantic legs/feet looks like they could support it, while the wang is probably some kind of stabilizing tail AND an awesome phallic symbol in one. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
