I've mainly been trying at viaduct hive on nothing, nice long wide path there. Its definately noticable when it starts working, but I can't seem to maintain the speed increase for long. Learn something new every day. Scripts are good, its just the people who do not understand them spread their word of evilness about them. Then it becomes a massive scripts are bad movement. And half the servers turn blockscripts 1 on.
Its so massivly annoying that im down to only 3 servers I will ever play on. It sucks so much that out of 400 servers (give or take) that im basically forced to move on to 3. Yeah im sure there are others out there but I like big servers 16+ people. And as of now I've only seen that support 16+ and have blockscripts off. Not gonna get into the whole script/bhop thing right now.
Just find it sad that in order to play the game at a high skill level requires the use of outside media (like instructional web-site or this forum), and can't be found simply by practicing and making intuitive deductions.
I mean, wall-strafing, wiggle-walk, nose-grinding, bunny-hopping, all of them are completely unintuitive means of movement to gain a speed boost.
"Hey lookee, dad! If I shimmy my hips, or plow my face into the ground, or scrape my shoulder against the wall, or jump from side to side while turning I can move forward faster than I could by actually just running forward.. funky huh?"
I know, I know.. it's part of the game now. I still find it disappointing.
You can get about a 30% speed boost just by holding forward and jumping alot as a skulk (and I'm pretty sure NOT holding duck). No kidding.
So if you're uncoordinated, that's one way for you to get around faster. It's better than a poor bhop, as it's just about as fast, yet you won't stop dead suddenly if you nudge into something or miss your timing.
Or, if you can't do a strafe jump, then it's a reasonable way to start a b-hop. Two jumps holding forward, then let go of forward, hit crouch, and accelerate more.
BAH! Bunnyhoppers should hang, regardless of how difficult it is. <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I think the fact that mp_blockscripts blocks bhopping scripts makes it evevn more unfair than ever. Now, ppl just use their mouse wheel to bhop, but my mouse wheel doesn't do multiple hits like that.
It's even more unfair because anyone can put a script but not everyone has a mouse wheel that can either bhop or pistol fire.
I'm very happy that my pc's good enough and so is my connexion. I can bhop almost perfectly with my space bar no script.
Oh and bhop is a skill that can be done easier with scripts or mouse wheel...with no help, its more skills and more practice.
And I do belive mp_blockscripts helps the marine side unless you used EVIL scripts.
Is there any way i can press a key once to keep me ducked then it it again when i don't want to be? I find it a major pain to hold down a key while im trying to bhop. Also i don't care about going round the scripts thing..places i play don't block it.
K-LOL, yes there are duck toggle scripts. However, I don't know them by heart so I can't regurgitate one for you here. If you use the search button, you're bound to find at least five threads with a duck script in them.
I wouldn't use a duck toggle because I actually use the same cfg for both teams, and marines need precise duck control to do some of their more amazing evasions. Plus, if you WANT to turn off duck, say for going directly from bhop to wallclimb in a split second, you have to hit the button, instead of just letting it go. It would be too hard to remember.
