<div class="IPBDescription">the coolest LA teacher ever.</div> Well, my amigos and I (there are about 5 of us in this one class) were sitting in class, listening to my teacher talk about Planet of the Apes (we watched+analyzed the film in class), and my teacher starts talking about how her computer broke. She mentions the "game she'd been looking forward to getting"(and got), and that game just happens to be Doom 3. She also apparently plays UT2004 and BF1942, and owns a few consoles.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MY ENGLISH TEACHER IS A GAMER. Not a pseudo gamer, I mean a person who builds their own rigs and whatnot(not that not building your own rig makes you not a gamer, but I'm just making a point, dammit). It's bloody awesome.

Is this some sort of anomaly? Does anyone else have teachers such as this? DISCUSS I COMMAND YOU.

EDIT: Changed friends to amigos because I am NOT going to spell friends right today. Even though I just did it twice >.<

    Woah, WTH man. A teacher. A female teacher. A female teacher gamer? I just can't get that through my head. How can this even exist, it defies all the rules of reality. Playing Doom3 Ut2k4 and BF1942? Is this an alternate universe.?

    I so freaking envy you. At my old High School, I would be lucky to even find psuedo-gamer students, let alone a teacher or two. Man.

    a female teacher thats a gamer? id ask if shes hot, but shes an english teacher. even if shes is hot she is doomed to the fate of all english teachers

    phase 1: nice and cool, every once in a while a teacher that is TOO nice and you hate
    phase 2: mean, and evil. everyone hates them.
    phase 3: complete insanity. everyone loves them.


    my school career went like this


    6th: phase 1
    7th: phase 2
    8th: phase 2
    9th: phase 1
    10th: phase 3
    11th: phase 2
    12th: (still in this grade but its hard to pinpoint it. she is either nice and mean, or mean and crazy. a foot in each phase. she can be all 3 at some times, but im leaning towards nice and mean.

    [edit]More seriously, don't start gawking in class at the idea of a female who actually plays computer games. Becoming friends with teachers as teachers = good. Being like the other dozens to hundreds of nerds who are always trying to strike up a conversation about the latest <companyName>-sponsored Doom3 tourney where fatal1ty participated = bad, because she's seen hundreds of those basement-dungeon types before.

    Eew. EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW. She is neither hot(not insanely so, at least-even is she's moderately so, she's definetely outshined by the 4 cheerleaders in the class, one of whom wears matching panties with every outfit, every day :DDD...ahem.), nor young (well, maybe to some of you, early thirties, I believe-being a 15 year old, that's like insanely old), and she may very well be desperate for some DOOManiac lovin', but that's not a train of thought I want to follow.

    Anyway, I actually *gasp* enjoy */gasp* literature, so that's mostly what I talk about in that class.

    OH GOD- THE CONCEPT OF DOOManiac LOVIN HAS TRULY PENETRATED MY MIND. THE PICTURES MAKE ME WANT TO STAB MY MENTAL EYES OUT.

    I dont know if this counts, but my 11th grade teacher let me install games on the pc in the classroom. Albeit it was a 486 and the games were commander keen, blake3d, etc.

    Damn you!!! My english teacher is dumber than a houseplant... she sat staring at the TV on Friday for 10 minutes before somebody informed her that in order for it to play "Othello" it had to be:
    a) plugged in
    b) on
    c) not have a tape jammed in the VCR while it was off

    15 minutes and 1 VCR later (the tape came out, but took most of the VCR with it) she almost figured it out. Except she forgot about the play button.

    But she gives people 100% no matter what they write for essays. I wrote the most horrible essay imaginable (well almost) for my English 20IB final and got 100% somehow. So did the guy who didn't show up however <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
