I like how they mention Mortal Kombat as a milestone, but show a picture from MK2.
In 2000 I had a 233 megahertz with 32 megs of ram. Which was actually bought earlier, and not customized as I was a nub with computers then. I'm sure the tech of the day was much higher. They had Pent2's at the time, anyway, which were 266 and up.
-edit- Oh, wait wait wait... Hold the damned phone.
Half-Life isn't a milestone... a game that sparked the creativity of thousands of budding programmers and, along with other top FPS games, sent a SURGE of new talent into the industry...
...but -DEERHUNTER- is... a game with horrid live picture based graphics and monotonous gameplay, with now stimulant growth the gaming comunity as a whole...
Sigh... -/edit- -edit2- Are they sure on those figures? AA was top online action game? I never remember that, but I didn't really follow... -/edit2-

[/B]Kinda messed up. Like for SNES they show one of the later models. Same with the PSOne, and the picture for the GBA was an SP!
The funniest part by far though:
The US Army aims to attract new military recruits with the unveiling of America's Army. The game, which cost more than $6 million to develope, is distributed free of charge and eventually becomes the number one online action game in the country.
Ok I don't know about you guys but I really liked the N64 all the way up until the new consoles came out, and I still love the games on the N64. You guys might bring up all this technical stuff (omg 2 32bit CPU's FTW) but the games are what mattered. Goldeneye 007 for the win!

hmmmm. HL or pocket pikachu...
32 bit cd system the sega saturn......
Why's this a milestone? It was crap it got out sold by the Playstation and it wasn't even the first 32bit CD System.
Milestone 1996
N64 first true 64bit console?
As far as I know it was just two 32bit CPUs not one 64bit. MAybe I was wrong, anyone else know?
Milestone 2000
Sony releases 128bit Playstation 2 the first console with better graphics capability than a PC?
Maybe this was true when they first decided on the Specs of the machine but it cannot be true when it was released in 2000
PS2 spec is only a 290mhz cpu 32mb ram and it's emotion engine gpu
What was the average PC spec as of 2000?
Well hey, it marked videogames starting to emerge from nerddom again.
