Timeline Of Videogames: No Half-life
PBS is going to do a special tomorrow called The Video Game Revoluation. The webpage for it is <a href='http://www.pbs.org/kcts/videogamerevolution/' target='_blank'>here</a>.
On the <a href='http://www.pbs.org/kcts/videogamerevolution/history/timeline_flash.html' target='_blank'>timeline</a>, the years are layed-out, and it has landmarks for each year.
To my surprise, there is no mention of Half-Life. It strikes me as odd that Half-Life, one of the most popular games ever, a game that is still selling copies six years after release (when you consider that technology becomes outdated in about a month, thats very impressive), isn't even given a second glance.

Which leads me to believe that the people who created this know nothing of video games.
Oh... those little circles at the bottom do somthing you say?
I'm happy that they picked Doom to represent FPSs.
Edit: <b>Dear sweet christ, these fools! They put G4 as a milestone!</b>
This is definitely true. It reeks of console bias, not just in the amount of material, but the nature. It talks about what a great hit all the console stuff it has is, and only seems to highlight PC games that they can find something bad about.
America's army cost 6 million to develop for a free game.
That'd bought HOW many bullet proof vests and M4s [if spent the correct way]? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
1993 - Second milestone - DOOM. Happy?
1958... HAHAHA! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
[and yes it does seem odd now that i've seen all of it that no other computer game is mentioned... it should be more like "the history of console games" not the "history of gaming" <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ]

Apparently "Age of Empires" was a "milestone"...
Although they failed to mention any of the stuff that actually killed Atari (Pac-Man, Jaguar, etc).
Best:
1. Half Life
2. Doom
3. Quake II
4. Command and Conquer: Red Alert
5. Starcraft
Worst:
1. Any of the Myst games
2. Turok
3. Any of the Sims games
4. Terminator: War of the Machines
5. Survivor: The Interactive Game
Apart from the fact there are a load of quality games on that wallpaper I do believe I see Half Life 2 there.

Maybe it's an anagram! We have to decipher it!
