This is no black theathe, there is no bluebox effect. I want it to be a costume to run and look/move around freely with.
I reworked the head, tried to solder it, but the links always broke, so I twist-bended it at the connections and used more good old duct tape, its more stable now. Its now completely held by my ears and front face, no more hanging over. The fades mouth is now constanntly at eye height, by walking on my toetips its ingame sized. time for some texturing and painint.
Heh, i found more bendable styrofoam and old gymnasic shoes to make syrofoam-fade-feed, just need to paint them black (and water resistant) for level 3 silence!! and a damn funny tramboline effect for leaping.
At first i wasnt sure if i can make an acidrocket on my shoulder, now that im less insecure im even thinking about a water pipe in it that ends in/near my mouth (inside the fade head) to spread some water.

Nice piccy Ollj, It will be a real sore having to hold the umm claws like that all the time, couldn't you hold it as if you were to stab some one? be easier on wrist.
Haha wow that is briliant! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Brightened up my day no-end. Good luck to you sir, you are my new hero!
Fade feeds done, sadly no silence but a really unique sound; something in between gorge and fade steps on stone (ok its more gorge like) and an almost silenced fade on grass. definitely not human. I like the "fade shoes" for additional 3 cm of height, for their sound and trampoline effect for larger steps when running.
If possible ill even add a small casete recorder that has an inbuild speaker, loud enough for chuckle and some alien noise.
well, pretty soon Ollj will be deciding to dress his dog up as a gorge (if he has one) <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

for the odd feet / legs just borrow a pair of your mums high heeled shoes. They make you walk all funny and fade like. Not that ive ever tried a pair on... obviously....erm
Found some more soft foam, soon the head will be completely covered, correctly "foamshaped" and covered by black stuff i just bought.
Then painting will start, if no big problems come. I dont know how healthy/good the foam, spraycanpaint combination will be in wet weather.
The foam shape comes close to this <a href='http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fadeeye.bmp' target='_blank'>fade eye</a>, I might even do the "skin colored worm" in correct shape and of coure a yellow transparent plastic eye:
And I have some "bumpy" black paint to make it look like that black "lava" skin around the eye.
new photos: <a href='http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fade/Ollj4.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fade/Ollj4.jpg</a> (eyes) <a href='http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fade/Ollj5.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fade/Ollj5.jpg</a> (head side) <a href='http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fade/Ollj6.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/fade/Ollj6.jpg</a> (head front) The head is missing some white and green, the legs miss a lot of black, sunlight was too bright.
In 30 hours I have to present a basic costume (maybe without acidrocket) to the park and hope they let me wear it.
Discovered a big problem of the color being flamable almost like oil.
Yes, eyes are 2 times as big, filling the whole eyeholes, but the eyeholes have the same size as in the concept. If not i would never be able to make the eye painting detailed enough and the head wont be that stable.
Small eyes are physically much harder to paint and keep in place. Bigger eyes seem scarier, and i have more space to look trough on big eyes.
Maybe I can make the eyes smaller later, they are not done completely.
For the exposed 'inner lip' or whatever you might call it on the front of the head you could use a layer of saran wrap or some spray-on lacquer(is that what it's called?) to give it that wet look with small, bright specular highlights.

Awesome Ollj. I retain my previous statement. You are my hero.

Oh em gee that is AMAZING! I can't get over the fact that you're making a fade costume. Are you gonna wear it afterwards, like around the house?
However, aren't the eyes too big? They are kinda smaller on the original concept, nay?
If not i would never be able to make the eye painting detailed enough and the head wont be that stable.
