jeez. ppl always nag N00B.
idiots. All of you.
I heared alot of ppl shouting n00b @ me when I went xeno, focus or w/e.
Kinda interesting that I was the one with the most frags and the highest level BEFORE I got xeno or focus. I am a n00b and am winning? o..k.. And cause I win I can techup to win even more... o...k...
So all pro's are idiots who can't get a single lvl and nag to the ppl who can and then actually use those lvls?
Great what this community has become.
>note that the idiots frase only is ment for the naggers under us)
This is why I play with mature people on servers, because I dont have to listen to n00bs whine about how it takes no skill. If they whine excessively, we kick them from the game and move on with our business.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> because you really worked for that level 4 in combat apposed to getting three hives in classic. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Oh yeah, just like how I work hard for my JP Shotty, olol, and then I camp the hive and shoot the respawning skulks and teh r liek "ogmnoob no skillzzoororzozozozozoz" an I am teh "hahah I r l33t".
If you don't like losing, why play any game? I mean its not like anyone listens anymore to children yelling "ogmnoskillzororooozozzozozz" just because they got killed by someone else.
Honestly, its like shouting "wallhack!!" when someone finds you in your leet camping spot in CS.
I think he enjoys slamming his face on the keyboard in a pathetic attempt to sound like people who are better than him.
Anyways, in NS xenocide is incredibly powerful- GOOD. It's how it should be.
In CO, however, it's incredibly overpowered and far too accesable. Level for level, on the tech tree you're looking at a weapons 1 armorless shotgunner with a comm vs a hive 3 skulk. GG
Xeno in my opinion works very well with the right upgrades. Only problem is it doesnt work all the time. I was pklaying as a rine and i got xenoed 6 times before i died from a 1 bite focuser. I know i was being hit because of the knockback that xeno does. So i was like WTH? people were calling me a hacker and everything and it also **** me off cuz It seemed unfair.
Is it me? or was it the server? or teh alien or wut?

If it is in the game and if it gives you a much needed advantage, then use it. If there are no rules on the server against using a game feature, then you have every right to use it.
It has always worked that way.
There is no need to justify using a game feature, balanced or not, "skill-less" or not.
Anything anybody says contrary to the above labels itself as scrub-talk.

I can shoot a xeno skulk, so obviously I have these mystical "skilzzozooooorzozozozozZz" that others lack.
Here's a wacky suggestion, why not try going for armour upgrades? Xeno is the least of your worries when there could be focused aliens running around. Only a fool chooses upgrades that don't counter the play styles of his opponent. If you're faced with focus attackers and xeno skulks then you probably need to consider armour upgrades if you find yourself unable to kill them before they get a bite in. You could try rushing for attack upgrades but that leaves you totally defenceless... in which case you need to shut the hell up and live with it. Thats the flip side of the coin.
On the alien side, xeno is good but it does mean your death.. and if you miss the marines then your team is one man down while the marines are rushing the hive. Focus is nice too but you have to pay the price.
Ultimately players need to consider that to GET xeno/focus the players need to GET KILLS. If you can't kill the alien and he gets focus, then you should at least be happy that the game is going to end quickly because your team is outclassed. Likewise if the marines have shotties and are about to romp through your hive.
Focus needs some measure of ability because you STILL have to bite the opponent for the kill. Xeno needs some measure of ability because you need to hit weakened marines if you want to kill them, and you need to do so in such a way that the marines cant coordinate their fire and shoot you as you rush them.
Great reasons for taking xeno -
One of the few area effect marine hurters in the game. Great for area denial. EXCEPTIONAL for softening up marines and allowing your less capable teammates to get cheap kills, making your team STRONGER. CRAP for killing marines unless they're half dead already.
Reasons not to take xeno -
Xeno means you'll be spending time in the spawn queue more than you might like. If you're the best player on a SERIOUSLY crippled team. Rushing it means missing out on choice upgrades like focus.
You will note that "whiners" is not a good reason to avoid xeno.
As for the hilarious "jp shotty is X levels" any player worth their mouse is going to know that kills are valued differently on each side. Marines can cheerfully camp long corridors and mow down tons of unskilled skulks... resulting in quick upgrades. Once you get to a shotty, which is usually very quick indeed, you'll find the upgrades come flying in.
For skulks you HAVE to attack marines at close quarters, and usually with support... a kill is somewhat harder for the alien to pull off... but the rewards are somewhat greater, with focus being almost essential for levelling and continuing to be useful throughout the game. Skulks cant camp long corridors, and aliens in general cannot counter the long ranged pain that marines can hand out.
I'd be fairly confident that a competent marine could be running around with JP/Shotty in the same time it takes a skulk to get xeno, and thats largely because of the ranged weapon advantage.
In summary -
You have to consider that xeno is STILL a close-up weapon, and that coordinated fire will rip up any skulk before he explodes. If your team cant kill him then thats unfortunate for you as an individual.
Choose armour upgrades for the easier counter to xeno/focus, and hope that your team doesn't hamstring you by walking into ambushes. Or choose weapon upgrades and hope that you've enough ability to shoot the skulk before it explodes.
Stop complaining about one of the most tricky, useful, and team orientated attacks on the alien side. Learn to shoot a skulk thats about to xenocide.
On the other note, yes xeno is blocked by structures, so as I've said in several other threads. Hugging the roof makes you an obvious target, and some MS don't have a low enough roof to do it quickly enough. At the same time, its harder to find something for marines to hide behind in CO, though..

Moments of NS humor: Skulks that Blow Up
Variant A:
1. Skulk arms slot4. 2. Skulk runs towards marines. 3. Skulk fires slot4. 4. BOOM! Marine killed skulk with a proximity mine.
Variant B:
1. Skulk arms slot4. 2. Skulk approaches a hostile corner of the map and fires slot4. 3. Skulk rounds the corner, ready to blow up the poor humans there in a split second. 4. Skulk prematurely explodes due to an ingested grenade.
Variant C:
1. Skulk sees marines far away, arms slot4. 2. Skulk fires slot4, arms slot3 in preparation for leaping at the marines. 3. Skulk fires slot3 to turn itself into a flying bomb. 4. Alas, Skulk < Weapon Switch Bug.
i don't have a problem with xeno skulks, there easy enough to hear when they scream so unless they do a well timed leap/boom then you don't have to worry too much
now a xeno onos on the other hand.....that'd be insane
