    If you want tactics, play NS. CO is meant for fast action. Sitting in a spawn que for an hour just to die in .1 seconds because someone memorized where the spawn spots are defeats the "action" element of CO. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Cheesy's respawn is the reverse of fast paced action, games are draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwn out with his system.


    Also, pepe since all combat is everyone dying in .1 seconds, please educate me, why am I never spawn camped in CO?     I would rather spawn and die in waves with my team and continue playing than spawn 1 at a time with the whole opposing team waiting for me to appear just to shoot me down in .1 seconds.

    yes, ultimatly the loosing team was probably going to loose (skill factors, behind in the kill count, etc.) but with the single spawn system, 1 failed rush means that it is an automatic loss.

    The most frustrating thing about CO in the normal spawn style is that you never know if you will spawn normally ever again. If 1 marine gets lucky and kills 3 aliens in a matter of seconds, that spells doom for the alien team, and a spawn wait of 15 seconds or more.

    I would propose a style based on the "spent" skill points, and spawn ques ranging from 1-15 seconds accordingly.

    Your right, cheesy's does draaaaaw out the game - but at least you get to play it.

    See, I don't see it that way.

    I usually get high ratio's when I play, and I'm never spawn camped, unless my team is horrible and couldn't kill someone if their familys life depended on it.

    I'm almost always the one doing the spawn camping, and I'm never spawn camped. The game is really fast for me. I just kill stuff and try to stay alive.

    I can do it on both sides too, imagine that. There are ways to take down serveral skulks at once, several marines at once, whatever.


    Anyhow, just to let you know a wave spawn system is going in b5, because there will be a big change to how aliens work so they don't dominate in the late game.

    What's that Spawn plugin on the NSArmslab.com co_ one? It's quite good. Its a defualt 5 second spawn time +2 for every dead player. Players do spawn in waves. Say 5 teamtes died, its 5 seconds +2 +2 +2 +2 +2 = 15 seconds.

    I find it quite balanced.

    K, you've got 15 seconds before 2 fades a lerk and 2 onos spawn in, maybe having enough time to reload an hmg twice while they're all spawing in again is going to help you fight that off, cause it sure as hell aint gonna kill that hive. It takes about as long to kill them all *quickly* as it does for them to spawn in. That's fun <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It's just alien biased. It becomes a lv 10 (or in some servers cases 21?) slogfest in which the aliens will almost always come out on top, unless the rines are buttraping the aliens in which they'd win anyways.

    nothing bugs me more when two skulks can kill the CC solely for the fact that both only 1 person can respawn at a time and the timer seems rather long

    when will it be made clear that most of us arent looking for a really quick game, but rather a fun, enjoyable, and balanced one

    As much as I may agree with that statement, there is a point of view that this opinion overlooks. The developers create and mold the game how they see fit. There isn't any single change to the game that wouldn't **** someone off. In this instance, combat games have been specifically engineered to be very quick games. If you don't like that style of play then simply don't play combat or find a server with sufficient mods on it to make it a more enjoyable experience for you.

    As for "the cheese", I really don't like it any more than I do the current respawn system.... perhaps even less so. Personally I'd rather just see the old respawn system (slightly modified as stated many times above) with a decrease in health for the hive and the cc. And I mean really decrease it... like... to the point that two maybe three times of "overcoming the defenses" was basically the end of the game. This would drastically speed the games up and also ensure that no one team was really spawncamped for too long. Its basically over if you get spawncamped anyways... this simply shortens the time people get spawncamped.

    The only problem with this is the map layout on some maps (ie. marines get a drastic advantage because they can damage the hive at long range... far outside of the "hive area" in some cases) would need to be addressed to make sure that victories weren't "cheap".
