It's been a while since I've read any cockney rhyming slang.

As for the movie...was there any doubt?

    I agree.
This episode turns whole alien trilogy upside down. There is no scariness, its pure action. I say this is totally diferent than classical alien moveys, its just **** up right into the face. There is no freaking plot at all, I am so **** off.
At least trailers sai that this movey is going to suck.
Actors are some superhumans, **** supermodels who look unnatural. In the first part, there wre so good actors, they looked so realistic like in real world, not some supermodels. The place was dark and dirty..
But what we got now, a bunch of "scientists" seeking in the lost temple wiht whole bunch of guns with them. Yeah, the pyramids were searched with the guns also, whole army were there, in case that maybe some monsters pop up from the walls... There is no scariness in the place when you got everything.. In the first and third part, there were not much weapons. But yes, nowadays everybody must have machineguns and stuff. The scaryness is gone. I say they should fight with axels and sticks found in the temple, not with some superguns what belong to superhumans..
Paul Anderson said that he "red" Däniken, I say **** he red. He says he believes these things, he does not believe nothing. He don't know nothing about Alien Trilogy. He turns classic into the commerce and **** into your mouth with that.
These movey trailers were discusting and mister Anderson just kicked into Dänikens butt and burned the Alien trilogy..
Yea, I am **** off. Burn in hell anderson!
I am not going to watch this movey in cinemas. I am not going to buy this movey either on DVD or VHS. Lets make a protest against Anderson and lets don't pay for this movey.

I'm not pleased about it either. It really kills what potential the movie had, if any.

nah it sucked, sucked hard. sucking of the third kind.

dam all these movies that are going out as PG-13s, i mean come on YOU GOTTA RATE SOME MOVIES 15 or 18, somthing decent ffs!

i mean the tradition for all the Alien movies and the predator was 18! (thats like our highest rating in the UK) the best part about the films is the gore (dont tell me im wrong cuz gore is allways a good thing in a movie) and you want the movie to be pure action and to keep you on the edge of ur seat. But this movie has gone DOWNHILL big time, i dont mind some films like I-robot with its low rating cuz thats the film that would apeal to the younger generation but once you get older you want more action, you want more gore, you want more! i dont want some crappy PG-13 rating cuz you know down deep it WILL SUCK SO HARD, cuz if you do sit there in the cinema and watch it wait for a big where an alien kills someone and you will say to yourself "if this movie was a 18 that scene wudda been alot better"!

T:3 was crap cudda been sooooooooooooooooo much better if it was a 18, i think if T:1 and T:2 had a PG-13 rating then they wudda been forgotten a long long time ago

I saw some very early trailers almost a year ago iirc. I knew back then that the movie would be crap, simply because the trailers were of the "We show you about half of our new Predator CG model in small glimpses, then hope you get excited"-kind. I am by no means trying to rub it in, but I cannot help but feel a little satisfaction at the fact that most people seem to agree with me now.

Whatever happened to the "no kids pissoff this isn't for your pimply-faced **** to be watching" ratings?

In Australia there was MA (15+ "restricted") and R (18+ "restricted")... There was also M (15+) which is like MA except unrestricted (supposedly MA means you gotta be 15+ and able to prove it, or have a parent/guardian present)

I say "restricted" because many places in Australia don't ask for ID (so as long as you look 15/18/whatever you're able to do nearly anything <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Also, both the Alien and Predator franchises saw movies previous to there being a game.

Remember kiddies, 30 seconds of a film with randomly sliced shots tell you that the film is going to be crap.

It's not out yet. If anything, play it safe so you don't look like a complete retard just in case the film IS good. I could start saying that there're aliens on mars and they're all ugly, and be basing it on about the same amount of information that you're basing "this film sucks" on.

People on these boards and many other boards were slating "I, Robot" before it was released, and it turns out that it's a pretty decent film. Just wait for it to be released before criticising it.

Have they released a full theatrical trailer for it yet? The only things I've been able to find are "making of" segments and the teaser which showed nothing of substance. Like "I, Robot", the fact that it gleefully urinates all over the legacy of works from which it is derived doesn't necessarily mean it will be a horrible movie, but it probably means I won't spend money on it.

i think it was actually praise cos somebody knew that it was a comic... **** ****.

anyways im gonna flip it and go agaisnt the grain.. i think itll be good.. who gives a **** if it aint a horror movie? its still gonna have guns.. and lots and lots of fancy effects... and like some of you have said all you have seen is snippets not even hardly or any actual footage.. so you are critiquing blind (dunno if critiquiing is a real word but it sounds hot right? ) just give it a chance...

one thing that always bothered me: why is it "Aliens vs. Predator"? Why isn't it "Alien vs. Predator" or "Aliens vs. Predators"?

edit: oh, it looks like the movie IS going to be "alien vs. predator" but the games weren't...

    [History Lesson]

Actually, this is the second time an AvP movie has come into being, and the third time the two have been referenced.

During the 90's, Fox picked up the rights for an AvP movie from Dark Horse comics, after the huge success of Predator and the AvP comic story, to make a crossover film. It reached casting stage, however around that time Alien3 came out.

The film flopped, costing Fox millions. As a result, someone decided the series was a bad move, and the film was canned.

The other reference is at the end of Predator 2. An observant person will notice in the trophy rack, alongside all the human and other skulls, there is in fact, a xenomorph skull stored sideways.

    [/History Lesson]

That aside, making any AvP film a PG-13 is probably a terminal mistake. But let's look at the directors previous 'efforts' in Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil shall we? It's not like we have any reason to hold our breath about it.

It'd be pretty damn unrealistic if the humans in this movie didn't have the best weapons available. I mean, they're frickin on EARTH. The other movies weren't on Earth, and the humans were basically trapped with the aliens.....

Note: I don't know anything about anything.

Well, if they are scientists investigating pyraminds, the guns would seem a bit out of place. You ever watch the History Channel? They're not carry M16's when they unearth tombs or anything.
