Check to make sure you have the most recent drivers, and if you didn't update Direct X when you installed the game, do it now. Yes this game requires the latest version of Direct X, dispite the fact that it is rumored to be OpenGL...

After I extracted all my files and put that autoexec.cfg tweak in my flashlight no longer lights up stuff. It comes out and you can see the beam, but nothing's lit.

I'm the one who seems to keep NVidia drivers updated around here(though I was beaten once- but that was because it was a mere 5 days after another, and before that it was *4 MONTHS* since the last).
I'm trying the last resort, of going into my Advanced Settings for my GFX card and putting Image Settings on High Performance.

Oh, and for those of you with supercomputers: A file to make the models have shadows on them from themselves(like the head shadowing the chest from a overhead light).

I need some help. I had some old drivers and the game lagged but no errors or anything. Now i have tryed both the omega drivers and nvidias latest even DLed my old drivers again. Lets see if we can fix it: What is your video card? If you don't know, go to the desktop, rightclick and go to properties, then go to the settings tab. Under the Monitor, it should say "Display:"- what does it say on the next line?

I can give you this much, my game use to freeze up for 1-2 second periods whenever a large action or area loaded (triggered events were a nightmare) but now the freezes are barely knowticable, always under half a second at the most. In general FPS seems slightly better too, I'm running one gridsize higher than I was before...
What do you mean it didn't work? The corpses still vaporize?
