Basically, my understanding is that if your buddy is still feeling the effects of the rejection, it's basically uncool to go after his ex. If he's over it, all clear, and if he's taking an unhealthy ammount of time to get over her, then well, his loss.

Actually Diabetes is both. Type one and type two diabetes are too much or too little sugar (but i don't know which).

I think I am with Burr on the whole sober thing. Beer needs to be supplied on tap in your home: Hot, Cold and beer. Right there on your sink

I can answer this one by telling a story about myself. I dated a girl for about half my high school years, and it ended right before the beginning of my Senior year of high school. A somewhat-good friend of mine had always liked her (You can watch someone's actions towards another person and tell how they feel about them), and once we had split I was somewhat concerned he would start dating her and fall for the same nefarious trap I did (Really cute intelligent high school girl + rampant sex = nerdy dude screwed). Plus it just isn't right to date someone a friend dated. I was glad when one day I brought it up the subject in a round-about way and he said "Wes there's no way I'd date <GirlNameHere>. You two were close and it wouldn't be comfortable for any of us". If a man knows another man well enough, the likelihood of them dating the same woman within a small timeframe is very, very low if they have any respect for each other. That's my experience.

at the same time, TheAdj`, any self-respecting modern gentleman should be good enough to his friends that he won't keep the girl off-limits FOREVER. after all, we humans are free spirits :o

after a decent length of mourning time, if a guy is still hanging on, still weepy etc, that's not the Code of Men.. that's just clinginess.

first dates... i take em to a quick chinese resturaunt, then to a club, get the taxi back to her place, and i walk home. i like to keep my distance till she tries anything so it usually ends up that i go back to mine, then get a phonecall a few days later, if she doesnt i do it 5 days later, rinse and repeat, then on the 4th or 5th i ask her back to mine for sum "coffee".

The smallest sign of showing she likes me, or what ever. I wouldn't want anything really, it's a good time out. And if she doesn't approve then she can go her own way and I shall pick up the pieces and share them with someone else. Seeing the topic has gone ahwol, I'll stop it there.
