Switching Over To Firefox
<div class="IPBDescription">Because IE is muh</div> Byebye IE, hello Firefox!
*smacks IE with guitar*
Anyone suggest any good plugins for this thing? I've already run Mozilla Optimizer, but I need actual plugins and not tweaks XD
I tried BBCode but it somehow doesn't work, but this is just my first time with this new interface, so I can't blame myself.
EDIT : Damn it's damn faster than IE too! XD

I finally got around to installing extensions. Turns out I needed to turn on 'Allow websites to install software' <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Something I'm really skeptic about.
Allow Right Click - is ok too
Dictionary Search - quite useful for forums and such
FLST - focus last selected tab, everyone needs this
BBCode - for forums and such
Those are the ones i use, the others are just there.
edit: "I finally got around to installing extensions. Turns out I needed to turn on 'Allow websites to install software'"
heh, firefox still asks you if you want to download/install it, unlike ie where visiting a site can install a stupid xxx dialer with numerous shortcuts.
Yeah same here. Tabbed windows is the only reason why I'd ever want to try it. Wait...I did try it and I uninstalled it after 5 min!
IE = the win
Copy Image 0.1 - Adds right-click "copy to clipboard" for images.
Hide Searchbar 0.1 - Automatically hides the google bar until you press ctrl-alt-s.
CuteMenus v0.3 - Cute menu icons. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Scrollbar Anywhere 0.3 - Not actually sure anymore.
Tabwarning 0.1.1 - Warns you if you close a window with more than 1 tab.
Gmail Compose 0.1 - Right click an email and it takes you to gmail and compose to write an email, handy little thing.
BBCode 0.1.x - BBCode stuff.
BlogThis - Right-click BlogThis item allowing me to use blogger from any page.
0.9 also has built in crashing and looking like **** plugins.
I'm sticking with 0.8. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
IE is the best and fixfox sucks.
I tried firefox and it twitches like a mutha.
IE has support with all websites and popup blockers such as "popup cop" own.
The only thing wrong with IE is the stupid popup dialouges and the vulnerability.
I'm sticking with Firefox. Nuff' said. Not going back.
I'll only use IE when I have to, like when I need to go to access my school intranet.
EDIT THE EDIT : I think I'll let this thread live....for a while that is XD

IE <i>doesn't</i> support all websites, and why do you need a third party pop up blocker when FireFox does it automatically?

There's alot more wrong with it and it has hardly and features unlike Opera, Firefox etc.
You like to gaze at the thousands of pop-ups!? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I use Firefox too now, tabbed browsing for the win!
Firefox owns.
Heh, there you go. IE isn't chock full of unnecessary doodles and stuff. I use <a href='http://myie2.com/' target='_blank'>MyIE2</a>, by the way. All the goodness of Firefox plus all the goodness of Internet Explorer.
1) Tabbed browsing everyone acts like is the savier of the internet. I've used tabs maybe seven times, and talking with people, some too nearly never use tabs.
2) It has crashed on me more then once.
3) It's riddled with bugs (yay for the autoupdated never knowing when you update and telling you to every time you open it)
4) I personally tend to open a lot of small .exe files: Mainly addon installers and patches. Firefox has decided that we're all total idiots so every single time you download a .exe you MUST save it to a location instead of being allowed to just dump it in temp. While for morons this is probably a godsend to prevent viruses, there is NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF. Seriously, if I want to just 'open' the .exe right away, FKIN LET ME!
5) Lots of pages require you to still use IE since firefox sucks at a lot of stuff. Example - watching a movie on albinoblacksheep, firefox decided to put the 'play' 'rewind' 'pause' buttons and some stupid little 'information window' smashed under the movie, so it was about 2x smaller then it should be. You can't open indexed help files on firefox. I can't use it for easy FTP. All require me to use IE.
6) No google toolbar: There's a cheap hacky plugin someone made but it looks like **** and performs like ****, and there's no autofill option - which is what I liked about googlebar.
7) It's a very slow browser. It opens slow. It loads pages slow.
8) It doesn't 'preload' image sizes for purposes of formatting. If I follow someone's link to a natural-selection forums post, the text is scrolling up and down and sideways all over the page because it's loading all the images. When it's done, I have to open the link again to get to their post since I won't be looking at that part of the page anymore. This also means on image-intensive pages you have to sit there waiting for each image to load or else you can't read crap. IE however will preload the image sizes so all the text is lined up BEFOREHAND so the formatting of the page won't change when it's loading images. Also firefox uses this wonderful 'load various qualities of the image' sweeps which is just stupid.
It's not that great a browser.

What a bad child...
I've been toying around with MyIE2 and the only real differences I see are:
1) Clicking the middle mouse button doesn't open a new tab
2) It works on some sites that FireFox didn't - like the Voodoo PC website.

I love you.
I quite like the IE user interface, but there are so many bugs with how IE works that its holding web developers back. websites could be so much cooler, but everyone has to design for crappy old IE, which just **** at anything cool you try to do. And thats just IE6, dont even let me get started on how god awful IE 5 is compared to modern browsers.
As for Firefox being much slower to load: Your default browser loads much faster than any other browser in a modern OS.
