    Speaking of IGN, am I the only one that's having trouble loading the page? Aside from the page itself taking a long time to load, does it display properly for everyone? On my screen, the layout is broken.

    That has happened to me with the gamespy.com website. But it seems okay now, ever since I started using Firefox.

    Guys, they explained why their doing this: It has something to do with helping them make their movies on IGN/Gamespy game stuff. Now see, you guys have no reason here to get mad: If you don't want to DEAL WITH THEIR SERVERS where 800,000+ people are SUBSCRIBED(let alone the non-sub like yourselves: 30 Million+), then you go get it off of something yourselves. Not to mention that frankly, they are providing a kickass service: You get exclusive chances to get into CLOSED betas not allowed elsewhere(they would make it public, but these slots are small and only for a few extra- hence how I got into the GC2 beta, and found out before everyone else how terrible it was), you get to use Gamespy Arena which is quite frankly the coolest thing I've been waiting for for a long time(finally, a place where you can have 1v1 ladders!), and otherwise you get the same stuff the regulars get, disregarding the waiting in line.

    Get some common sense guys. Until we see you buying 200+ servers and paying for 6,000,000,000,000 GIGABYTES of bandwidth being used every day, then I will still love Gamespy, cause they kick your ****.

    I'm pretty sure rottentomatoes has nothing to do with closed betas, I'm not sure where that argument is coming from. There's little doubt in my mind ign will set up a "premium service" dealy that you have to pay for however. Even if it is just the same stuff you can get now for free.

    For people who have something against Gamespy/IGN, there's a simple answer to all of this. The following instructions should work for Windows 2000 and XP; Win98/95/ME users can do the same, but will have to look up the instructions elsewhere.

    Step 1: Go to My Computer, then C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
    Step 2: Open the file called "hosts" using notepad
    Step 3: after the line that assigns localhost to 0.0.0.0, add

    127.0.0.1 works as well, but some people report it may work slower.
    When you save the file, make sure you don't inadvertently put a ".txt" extension at the end. The file needs to have no extension to work.

    You have now <i>officially</i> boycotted Gamespy. Try browsing to it. Impossible, see?
