Please include such infoes as weather the game is a good rent, must buy, and if it takes a lot of time to really get into.
I will conclude with the new smiley that I did not knowtice until now, but knew existed since [WHO]'s terminal post. <!--emo&::tsa::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tsa.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tsa.gif' /><!--endemo-->

This is why the xbox misses out on great games; it has no Pikmin. No ICO. Its version of Beyond Good & Evil is the worst of any (GCN having the best control scheme, and PC having the best graphics). It had HALO for a while, but that's no real draw, given how badly the PC version whups it for visual quality, controls, fps performance, and load times.
I *think* they had a Jet Set Radio sequel at one point, which might be worth a look. But the rest is pretty much rehashed clones, rather than actual attempts at new styles of gameplay.
(edit) Weren't they doing a Conker's Bad Fur Day sequel on the box? But that's not out yet, and would be one of the few arguments toward owning one. (/edit)
I threw the game away...heh. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Edit: Panzer Dragoon Orta, as Talesin mentioned. That's another quality title, but you might want to rent it first to see if you like it. And yes, the XBox has Jet Set Radio Future. Never played it.
Don't believe people when they say there are no good exclusive titles, they just don't pay attention <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Dead Or Alive 3 and it's upcoming sequal are both two great exclusive fighting games for the XBOX. Ninja Gaiden and Panzer Dragoon Orta are both top notch exclusives as well. Project Gotham I and II are some of the best looking and fun racers on any next gen system. Full Spectrum Warrior and SW: KOTOR are both games designed and available exclusively for the XBOX and only recently ported to PC. And neither are mainstream games. And there was a JSR game, and it was fantastic. Actually some of the best and most creative games for the XBOX were made by Sega.
There are many others, and BTW most multiconsole games are simply better for the XBOX...better graphics, more features, XBOX LIVE play, harddrive support. 'sallgood.
Or if you're into fighting games, Dead Or Alive 3 would be a good one to get. According to many it's the best in the series, out of one of my favorite fighting game series' right next to Soulcalibur.
I basically bought my Xbox for these 2 games, because I had enjoyed their prequels on Dreamcast, but that's just me.
Other exclusives worth owning are DOA: Extreme Oggling and Jet Set Radio. If you'll be going on Live, Project Gotham Racing 2 is a must.
SUPA BRUTHA
I <3 DOA3, JSRF, PGR/PGR2
JSRF and Conker would be my big two, even though I loved Panzer Dragoon.. show me an updated Silpheed and a Night Trap/Double Switch and I might actually consider it an updated-retro gaming platform.
I must have some weird version of Halo for the PC - I've never had any problems with it.
It's remarkably stable (my three-year-old PC is unreliable in Windows at the best of times, and Halo runs just fine), it gives decent framerates on a Geforce 4Ti (okay, it's 640x480 but everything else is at maximum), and it generally works really well. Internet play runs fine (occasionally laggy, but that's playing on a US server from the UK)...
I assumed it was a good port until I heard everyone else whinging about it. It runs better than most recent game demos I've downloaded (Far Cry stuttered and locked up at regular intervals, for a start) - am I really alone?
JSRF has a lame soundtrack, save for a couple of songs by Hideki Naganuma (unless, of course, you like doing The Scrappy).
And the JGR Professor K > JSRF Professor K.

Well, who knows what it is, but Halo does run **** on a lot of computers. Like mine, for example: GeForce FX 5600 256mb, P4 2ghz, 1280mbRAM(1-2 loads when I had it, thankyouverymuch), and a Audigy 2. I should be able to run this at 1024x768 no problem, but anything but 640x480 kills my computer. Which is stupid.
XBox exclusive? I'd say Ninja Gaiden.
Jet set radio furture, Ninja Gaiden were good exclusive and worth the money.
Full specturm warrior is good though im not sure if its xbox exclusive.
Also Fable, Sudeki, Riddick, BC, Jade empire look like some good xbox exclusives.
1) Riddick. Best movie license I've ever played, and arguably the best game I'll soon own for my Xbox.
2) Gaiden. Great visuals, slightly quirky but ultimately rewarding control scheme, nice long play time and HARD, but in a good way. You're not a ninja when you start this game... this game teaches you to BE a ninja, 'cause you don't stand a chance as Joe Schmuck.
3) JSRF. I haven't played it in a while, but it's a great game. It's been streamlined since Jet Grind Radio, both in good and bad ways. I actually played JGR after JSRF, and I've ended up liking both for different reasons. The level design is awesome.
Then you've got other games that people have mentioned, as well as a few more on the horizon. I just want to mention one more, which isn't a *game* per se:
4) XBox Live. If you want internet play on a console, then the Xbox is your system. Full stop. They've already got a great selection of Live-enabled titles, and even single-player games can be Live-aware. For instance, you can be playing Chronicles of Riddick and get an invite to join your friend for a game of Splinter Cell, and it's as easy as popping in the disk and going. And it's just a yearly fee - no hassle with monthly or per-hour charges. Pay once and forget about it, it just *works*.
It's mostly a graphical update. The single player is the same. And they added a bunch of new multiplayer modes. I love the old one and don't think I need another version of it. But if you've never played the N64 one... it's worth checking out.
w00t. Nearly.
woo steel battalion!
that said, buy halo.
Not only is it <u>the</u> best X-Box game, not only is it one of the best games of the current generation, it is one of the top 5 games I have ever played. EVER. Its that good.
I'm sorry, I have to comment on this, because it's funny as hell.
Do you know where Halo first premiered?
MacWorld.
Yep. The annual Apple expo. Not only that, it was announced as a simultaneous release for Mac and PC, and this was in 1999. In 2000, Microsoft bought Bungie. And in 2001, a truncated, rushed Halo was shipped as an exclusive, launch title for the Xbox.
From the bottom up for the console? Whatever helps you sleep at night. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Nightol?
That or a friend with a PC that isn't crap, so he can see what Halo looks like at a decent framerate, at a better-than-crappy-TV resolution. Maybe even some FSAA if he's lucky. It's pretty, and the controls are better (thanks to having a mouse and keyboard)... but you can't get away from the half-assed cut-and-paste level design throughout the second half.
(Settles down to play Custom Robo now, on his non-hernia-inducing system)
although its not as good as JSR <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Please lead me to this mysterious good version of Halo PC. Please. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
