bah. With so many Final Fantasy fanboys out there going "omg ff7 am the best!" "no ff7 sux0red ff10 am the best!" "WTH r u thinking ff2 am the best!" etc, you'd think there would be some damned good remixes of some of the better FF songs on OC Remix. But I've yet to find any.
But from what I understand the music has been pretty similar across all the different games, so perhaps the remixes of songs I'm looking for could be found in FF1-6 or 8-9 or Tactics or something. The thing is there's like 150 of them, and I don't feel like downloading any of them...
In particular I'm looking for a really good version of the Battle Theme music (you know, the one that plays for regular enemy fights) and also for the fast pased escape type music (plays a lot in FF7, like when they are on the train and they are trying to escape).
So if you know of any good FF mixes, post a link to em here please. :)

And I know they sound similar, cause I've heard the same damn song in both FF7 and FF10. :P
The FF IV Main Title Music(basically a harp doing a odd scale)
Chocobo Theme (which is remixed every time you hear it)
Well, don't expect to find many remixes that aren't in MIDI, because that's what they mainly work with :\
And one thing that ALWAYS doesn't change (except instrument) is the....
Victory theme!
Heck I can even play it on my keyboard
wth NO! This plus the whole sequel to sequel thing (read: FFX:2) is a pretty clear sign that Square is now just milking it.
There's gotta be somebody out there who knows this crap...
nearly every remix is in mp3, because nearly every remix is compiled in either fruity loops, reason, or cubase, all of which compile most convieniantly too mp3. The originals are mostly in midi, because the SNES sound engine works really similar to a midi generator.

Or they're just reusing and revamping decent music. Hell, I'm pretty sure they've done it in the older games, too. (I think FFV and FFVII had some similar songs, though it's been a long time since I heard both soundtracks)
As for the remixes...I'll need to get back to you on that. I used to have TONS of them, but I lost all of them in a format.
You may be able to acquire music of Final Fantasies (any era) upon that site, though the format may be unsuitable for your tastes...
Thee be hunting for mp3s? Thee findee not there, yessirree.

If I remembered right, I heard the Cave theme from FF4 in Macalania Woods....
Could be coincidence though. After all, they have had Nobuo Uematsu for who knows how long.
But I really find it odd how the cave theme suddenly appeared in Macalania woods :o
As for Black Mages....they simply pwn. Plus, they have Dancing Mad on CD, w00t!
*scurries for Black Mages album all over Hong Kong*

"hurry" and "hurry, faster!"
if you want i can send you snippets to make sure they're the right ones
and @ rave: dancing mad si pwn
Lemme tell you that the Dancing Mad remix they did is freaking awesome. good luck on your search
BTW, I suspect that Nobuo is using a Casio CTK-738 because my keyboard also has the same kind of tunes it has in it
