Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

<div class="IPBDescription">What would you want?</div> This is me just personally wondering, but what would you want in San Andreas? Including what they arleady have(just say so if so), or anything else. Lets see what the gamers with a brain think.

I myself would love to have a full-working Gang control system. Micromanage my sale and distribution of drugs, getting protection money(and actually protecting), planning my takeover of the cities, and being able to ACTUALLY TAKE IT OVER(via a overhead map, displaying your gang's color), including scheduling house raids, drive by's, and things like that.

And as a side note, upping the ante and requiring a second answer: I'm not saying it is true(big rumor), but they may have a school in the game. As in-kids. Yeah. If they did, would you take up arms? Would you allow it, but limit what you can do? Would you allow full rights? And is it morally correct to have that?

As to that, I myself think it'd be okay for all of it- it'd help you define the meaning of your gang, what you really are. In the game, I'd be inclined to socialize with the kids from elementary to Jr. High, then in High School start grabbing a few into the gang, slowly growing the population. Then again, my gang would also be the kind that is there to take care of its people, a lot more thoroughly then the city/state does.

I haven't read up on this game at all (I don't read previews ever), so I dunno if they already have this.

I just want to see a few features not seen in the previous ones.
    1. No more automatic identification by your enemies.
-If I'm driving a car I just stole, there's no way these people could know who I am and start shooting at me.

    2. Persistent enemy population.
-If I make it my mission in life to kill every member of gang X, they better stay dead.

I'd like to see it not be full of annoying thug gangsta types. :/

I'd rather they fix the whole "turn around then turn back and there are totally new cars" thing. It's not a persistent world; it's a persistent map that keeps getting repopulated.

    1) Remove 80's **** music. (Slayer may stay)

    2) Main character doesn't swim like a rock.

    3) Analog choices (or any choices at all) like in GTA2. To sum it up: there were 3 gangs all giving jobs. Some jobs were general, others were anti one of the 2 other gangs. You had a faction with all the gangs that started at zero and could go positive or negative. Doing jobs for a gang raised you faction with that gang, and it lowered for doing jobs against a gang. So it was the player's choice to be ALL mafia, or Yakuza hater, or try to be buddy buddy with all 3... or make them all his enemy. Fun sandbox stuff like that rules.

    4) Make use of the analog sticks for aiming.

    5) He's not a white man... so how bout letting him jump (and not suck at it).

    6) More specific car damage... like a bent axel affects turning... cutting brake-line... etc.

    7) Better car memory (already mentition above how stuff "dissapears").

And about the morality of having schools/children in the game. Are you trying to say that it's morally ok to steal cars or shoot police officers (or anybody)? If people have extra moral objections against violence against children then all they need to do is not commit it! Aren't choices wonderful? I love games.

Just to let you know before I answer: Almost all of those things are going in San Andreas. The Aiming system is TOTALLY being redone, though I still don't know how it works(nor does anyone else). 90s music is going in, being this one is in the 90s. I don't think you can choose what gang, but I do believe you will be the one arranging house break ins and the such, so maybe you can have your gang the way you want it. And by jump- what do you mean? Like be able to jump higher or something? They both before jumped as high as you would IRL, so I dunno. The car effects are already going in, in the way of a new physics engine for cars, which includes a damage engine. And the car memory they said was the first thing they fixed. Which btw, also really smart AI is in now too.

And for the question: I don't think its morally okay to do those things in real life, but just like movies, is it okay to have those in games? I mean, not even movies have moved so far as to do stuff like that to kids, so this would be totally uncharted ground for the entertainment industry as a whole- it'd be big to see how this would affect the world.

    I'd want a new aiming system. Everything else is fine <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I loved the old 2D GTAs. They were fun <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

As for kids? Who cares. Shoot a virtual **** or a virtual schoolchild, nobodys being harmed. Fiction is fiction, end of story.

Ok, Here are the official features as far as I have read:

-San Andreas isn't a city, it's a state. It will be made up of three different areas: Los Santos: (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco), and Las Venturra (Vegas). There will be countryside areas between them so it actually feels like you're going from city to city.

-Interiors will play a bigger role, you'll be able to rob houses. It won't be as simple as carjacking, you'll have to carefully plan them.

-The AI will be greatly improved. Every NPC you see will have a "brain" and will react differently to your actions. Also seeing as how you'll be running a gang, you'll be able to recruit up to three guys to roll with you (which will lead to the inevitable four-person driveby).

-There will be a stamina meter and you'll have to eat to keep it up, but if you eat a lot of fast food and fail to exercise you'll become fat and have problems completing missions.

-The targeting system will be more like Manhunt's. You can duel-wield guns. Enemies will have rag-doll physics.

    -You can swim.

-You'll have to repeatedly press buttons to make the bicycles go faster.

-It is supposed to be "the most dramatic and emotionally engrossing entry in the series to date" placing emphasis on Carl Johnson and his entire family.

It would be nice if they flesh out the whole indoors thing. In GTA:VC, indoor areas were few and rare. And when you do go in them, they feel just like outdoor areas.

More indoor areas, MP support for the PC version.

Better aiming system, MP support for PC and possibly broadband PS2, Xbox... although priority to the PC IMHO.

Better location damage, more bikes, better selection of vehicles, better way to store vehicles.

Heli's, planes, etc, more more. Fix the plane flight engine, as its more annoying than anything else.

Really stupid and totally out of context special missions - ie zombie rampages, alien invasions, quirky stuff to make me laugh after I've spent a day hunting every package.

Did you try it in Vice City? It was perfect there <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
