Mr. And Mrs. Monse's Kids

<div class="IPBDescription">Meant to post on this in March...</div> My wife and I recently adopted. No, not disgusting children, silly reader, we adopted dogs! Here are our two kids, rescued from poochie concentration camp (aka Wake County Animal Control).

The orange one is Emmy, a two-year old Golden Retriever-Border Collie mix. She's the brains of the operation. The white on is Finnegan, a six-ish year old Labrador Retriever-Australian Shepherd or maybe Husky mix. He's the muscle.

I snapped these a few days in Emmy's room (formerly the guest room, which she has taken over as her own). As you can see, they are happy, affectionate, and sleepy at this point in the day...

    Emmy's beautiful. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> The perky ears are a nice touch on the golden retriever type. And Finnegan's husky blue eyes... Nice <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> Always loved those

My fiancee just picked up our kitten the other day. His name is Norman and he's 6 weeks old. I'll post pics with the wedding pics. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> If we ever get a dog, though, it'll probably just be a small little norwich/norfolk terrier or something.

Anyway, great dogs! Emmy looks like a German Shepherd I used to have- not in color, but the shape of it's head. It's got that cool pointed head.

And those blue eyes! Those are excellent!

Finnegan has scary eyes. Kind of like wolves.

On a side note, i heard about a study some scientists did on dogs. Of all dog breeds on the planet, all wolf genes have been bred out (except for wolf-dog mixes).

Thats impossible, dogs ARE wolves (since they can breed with wolves), just very domesticated wolves. We've bred them to the point where their adault behavior is still very similar to that fo a wolf pup.

Aaah, but you do ask new forum readers to register by saying, 'Vhere are your Paperssss?! Papersss!!! Papersss pleassse, fraulein!!!".

Thanks for the kind words all. And Finnegan licks the screen in gratitude for noticing his eyes. I must now get some paper towels and Windex...

Thumbs up Mr.E! And well done adopting as opposed to purchasing from a breeder. They look like great additions to the new home.

The GF just got us a Collie/Shelte mix for my birthday. She's only a year old and was about a week away from being put down. I'll post some pics if I can get some later.

BTW, I hope you're having better luck with the house training than we are! <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Good lord, for a second I read this as:

"The GF just got us a Collie/Shelte mix for my birthday. She's only a year old and <b><i><span style='color:red'>is</span></i></b> about a week away from being put down. I'll post some pics if I can get some later."

AAGGH!!! Don't kill your dog and show us!!!! D:

Good deal, Spoogester, that sounds like a very happy puppy! I hope you have lots of yard and energy; we actually had to hire a dog walker for ours since we're gone all day and they need some leash time to stay sane (we have a fenced yard they can run around in, but it's a big wide world out there that they must sniff and pee on).

It would be great if this became a 'show us your dog' thread. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Dogs drool on your keyboard. Cats just sleep on them, causing only brief annoyance.

Anyways, gj on letting two massive hairballs in to your new house <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Here are our dogs, Carnage (back) and Gypsie (front), they are llewellan(sp?) setters. Like all setters they are terrorists, running around the house and chewing on or trampeling everything. Don't let the picture fool you, Gypsie is a good deal smaller than Carnage (but can kick his **** regardless).

You got some beautiful dogs their MonsE. They are better than humans! My family has a pure bred golden retriever, he was free from my uncle. He is my best friend, but he is getting old and grumpy (getting white around the muzzle).

    I <3 my dog!
