It got a whopping 93 percent (which is good because they're usually stingy with scores, it's the highest scoring mod ever apart from Counter-strike). I guess it's my turn to introduce myself. I'm a 25 newbie player from France. I started playing NS 2 days ago, and find it totaly awesome. I think I downloaded NS sometime in late november, close before patch 1.03 I believe. I'm getting very good at it, though still have a lot to learn for commander and gorge tactics.
Actually only yesterday I found-out about the aliens upgrades <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I was wondering why my fade would die so easily compared to when I fight them. No one would tell me why, but that's what u get from the Half-Life community (most of them, not all).
Very very good mod, people! I would recommend you try and sell it and I bet you will do great as CS had done. Just gotta fix the commander a bit and make his controls more RTS-like I think. I play this all the time now so it's very addicting. There's nothing like great teamwork dominating the other team, and hiding in vents laughing at the marines.
You'll probably see me hanging around the strategies' pages.
BTW I'm from Alberta, Canada and I found-out about this mod from fellow Serious Sammers who are bored with the bad netcode <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
On behalf of all the other "mehn", I would like to simply post that the [mahn] clan is new to NS (that is to say, i think we started at 1.02 which isn't that old at all). I use the term clan loosely, we're more like just a bunch of (3-letter word meaning "happy") miners. You'll know us when you see us, we usually try to swamp a server 3-6 of us at a time, but the more devoted players also play on our own.. myself, [mahn]jooce, [mahn]sawce, and [mahn]xkreet.. we'd like to think we're getting pretty good as far as pub noobs go. maybe some day we'll get it together and play some "scrimmages".

I've come from the AHL/RC community and i've been playing NS for quite some time, but i never really bothered to register here because i thought i'd never want to post something, just read the strategies and tips and whatnot. But now that i've spotted Cheesy from the RC forums here, i decided to give it a go.
I'm new to NS, only just downloaded it a couple of days ago.... still haven't managed to find any decent servers yet and the chat in HL is shocking, too many people with bots i think, oh well you get that i spose. I set myself to downloading it, and though I considered myself a real hotshot with a Colt or Pup I got wasted before I could say: 'Hi all, how do I play this game?' (nice and N00By, purrfect target for any opponent, hehe)
at first I had it rough.. not even knowing which building to use for reloads, nor not knowing how to deal with turrets conspired to make my life miserable..
then, I finally killed sumfing ! one Skulk greased, what a feel ! and another one, even a third (was kinda staking out a hotspot <!--emo&::sentry::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/turret.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='turret.gif'><!--endemo--> 'ok', I reckoned, 'I got it down the fingers a bit, I'll reckon a bit and maybe make myself usefull!'
that's when I saw my first Fade.. greased again.. and again... and again.. with no hope in hell of survival!
the team I was on was on the case though, and we managed to kill them off finally.. I relaxed.. I was wrong !!

that's what popped up in my mind when Onos charged and singlehandedly proceeded to lay waste to everything that survived the fades !
and to say they actually encourage new players to go marine, hehe ! I guess the programmers are Alien playas who just wanted to ensure a fresh supply of greenhorn marines! <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

Hello! I've been playing this game for a couple months now, so im not a newb or anything. When I first started playing I couldn't play because I didnt have OpenGL. BUt, after a while, a week or so, I learned how to change it to Direct3D. It was definately worth the wait! The very first server I joined the marines had about 50 turrets, and the aliens were rushing us with onos, so, we got our butts kicked (plus I was a newb then, so I sucked badly) In short, this game rocks! I still remember the first time I went aliens. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I'm also in the process of trying to persuade my clan (see link below) to switch from CS to NS. Our Jolt CS server has been empty for a couple of months now and I can't think of a better game than NS to change to. TBH we're all a bit bored of CS and a few of us play NS already (It was my clan leader who introduced me to NS in fact)
LOL...You don't "smell" Fizzer...It's just this thread has been going on so long most people who frequent the forum have already signed up. You just have an occational straggler or person who decides to throw in their info just cuz. Hell, last time I posted on this thread (to do the official announcement thang) was around November 26th!
