<div class="IPBDescription">I had an odd call...</div> Ok.. to make a really silly story short, considering I didn't understand it.

I had someone call probably about 10 minutes ago and asked for a "burnishing strip". Now... I know that burnishing is where you resurface metal using the "burnishing" tool basically a fancy sander. When I asked what the this "strip" did.. and yes I did google it before I am asking, he told me to put someone on the phone who knew what they were talking about. Well.. I am the only one here... so my question is.. what is a burnishing strip?

    Ok.. for those that didn't know.. I should have clarified.. I am the only one at work. That is how I am able to post on these forums.. considering I do not have internet at home. Heh.. sorry for the confusion.. I forget that people don't know where I am at times. ;-)

    From everything I know, a burnishing tool is essentially a file for very precision work. There are many different styles of burnishing tools ranging from small hand-held (like a fingernail file) to circular tools used in precision pin making.

    Sounds like your caller had no idea what he was calling for and wanted to talk to someone who did. I wouldn't spend too much time mulling over it.

    Well... that is what I thought to, and from all of the research I have tried via google, ask jeeves, and altavista. I can only assume the same thing. Thanks for all the assistance guys, it sucks to be working at RS and have people such as the previous caller assume they know more then one of the opposite gender. :-)

    (Although I didn't know what burnishing was before I looked it up, hehe)
