<div class="IPBDescription">comedy goldmine from Something Awful</div>*Note: Something Awful has sometimes 'questionable' banners, and content. Nothing really bad (unless you specifically dig down for it) but just in case your children or parents are in the room here's a forewarning*

<a href='http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2195' target='_blank'>Tales from the Mental Hospital</a> is a collection of stories from one resident Goon who has spent his life in and out of mental wards for severe depression.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Forums Goon n3cro spent a little while in a mental hospital. During his stay he ran into various wacky people, and managed to create a bit of mischief himself. As he describes it:

"During my formerly frequent stays to various psychiatric facilities in NJ, I've met quite a few characters. They've ranged from scary violent psychos, to hilariously deranged schizophrenics, to the just plain bizarre. That statement also includes some of the people who worked there. Sometimes, the staff is just on the wrong side of the desk.

Needless to say, each separate hospitalization was a truly unique experience. That's right, the hospital can be fun."<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Its a very, very funny read.. My favorite stories are the ones involving Sherry. And the moral of the story kids: Don't date chicks you meet in the mental ward.

This is possibly one of the Best Things Ever, right behind that ICQ prank they did recently and the muppets photoshop phriday that got shut down by henson.

I guess I'm the only one here who didn't find anything in there funny. It's not that I'm opposed to jokes about mental patients, I just didn't read anything humerous.

I'm still at a loss to figure out just why Sherry would be in the mental ward to begin with, as she's clearly less aggressive than 80% of the women I've ever met.

The people in he's talking about, including himself, are not disabled. They're mentally ill. There's a distinction.

That said, that was a wonderful read.

May just be the NJ area she is considred odd. Here, she would fit in perfectly. A lot of the real women are the cursing, **** whooping type. I still like the psycho marine one the best.

    Brilliant.

Reminds me of Forrest Gump, but funnier and crazier and bad-wordier.

    Absolutely brilliant.

Oh, and the best was the story about Jamie. When I have kids, I'll tell them that story and say, "...And that's why it's important to take baths and brush your teeth and be potty-trained!" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Y'see doom, your perspective is skewed towards observing females whilst they're in direct contact with your person. This will naturally alter any behaviour observed.

The psyco marine dude is the best.

Those stories really rocked. Sounds like Mike had a lot of fun gallivanting around the local mental hospitals.

Still, I have to wonder whatever happened to Sherry? They seemed like good friends and those were my favorite stories. Perhaps they still keep in touch?
