yay
Im working on a new map! yay! its based on this drawing drawn by the nasa crew.
http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2004/im...ses/habitat.jpg
im calling it ns_pegusus from the horse like star system. If anyone is interested please reply! the map will be mostly UNDERGROUND with the setting above from the picture. I really like this idea, it might be fun =)
sky= mars
textures = marine or alien
lighting = regular
sounds = water dripping, sewers, water falls, and lots of high tech sounds ^_^
i also want the players to be able to go above the ground and visit mars! woohoo!
come on guys, i say all of us mappers get to gether and build it! i would like to dedicate this to the natural selection team for all their hard work and their time to have US play a wonderful game! visiting other planets is not enough, but visiting mars, and walking on it on ns = priceless so again if anyone is interested, please reply!

I would be interested in the project but im still learning dont think il will be on par with others.
Anyway be happy to give feedback and ideas mate:D.
textures
outside - ground, rover paths
inside - grates, walls, railings, lights
architecture - glass, grass, flowers, technical white texture for outside things ( sattelites, generators, etc.)
theres a lot more, if youd like to contribute anything, its a start. if someone is interested, could they model some rocks for me? various sizes IS a MUST please. this is for outside, and partially the hive.

This leads me to ask, why can't you do the same yourself, BlackPlague, everyone else is capable of mapping at least one map on their own, but it seems you've done nothing except try to form group projects or cut in on someone else's map.
ns_altair
co_teamgoatse (for the mapping contest)
and several sets for Enclosed Worlds (ns movie project)
It's not really that hard to learn to map it just takes time and patience. 30 seconds and google should give you a list of tutorials to start from. Have at it and we look forward to seeing original work from you sometime soon.
Edit: Gah, I can't spell.
if you can do the textures then it shouldn't be that hard to make the map yourself
when i go into the bsp, the glass is still the textures color. what is the fx amount for glass and what kind of render should it be? solid? texture? help would be greatly appreciated. thank you
FX Amount should be anywhere from 90 to about 120.
If the glass is unbreakable, make it a func_wall (unless you want to break it with a trigger, in which case, leave it as a func_breakable, change the Material Type to Glass, and check the box on the next tab that says "Trigger Only".)
the layout, you have that one hive, ONE way to it. it needs work. i could help you but i'm still pretty n00b to mapping. spent the past couple days configing stuff and messing around in a test map i made.
