Carapace only finds itself to be usefull to me when I'm a low class alien that can die easily. I usually use carapace if I'm a skulk simply patrolling, I leave the fight for the others while I parasite and retreat with a near death. 30 armor is better than 10 imo

I still get carapace early on as a skulk, it usually ends up paying for itself him an extra kill or 2.

cara is a defensive upgrade :S you need to put chambers on the front for it to be useful otherwise :O
