I assume you guys are going to have a forum when your website goes up. Is it too soon to volunteer for a moderating/admin position?
Screenshots will have to wait until tonight or perhaps tomorrow sometime due to RL commitments.
The gameplay description is roughly what I mentioned in the first post, although perhaps if I knew more what you wanted to know, I could help.
This is more the alpha tester time period, since it's not very far along as of yet.
That being said, however, it is definitely playable, and a lot of fun, assuming, of course, that fun for you does not require flashy custom models or 400 hour maps, since we have neither at this point. If you can appreciate good ol' fashioned surviving against evil hordes of your former teammates and solid gameplay, you should be good.
I've got a website procured for the moment, but there is barely anything up there yet. Again, later tonight or perhaps tomorrow I'll have some screenshots, gameplay descriptions, design doc snippets, and other quick bits of info up. I'll put up the web address when it's actually got something on it.

Heh. Run a search here in O-T for 'zombie' and see how many hits you get... humans versus zombies is a popular theme.
Looks like you've got a passle of PTs champing at the bit to get their hands on even an alpha to run around in. Any ideas when it'll be sent out/posted for download?
I'd volunteer for a playtest 'cept I'm on a crappy 56k in Asia. I will however, point you to some zombie models. There's a Sven-Coop map called Resident Evil and it has some nice zombie models.
Dunno how simple this would be to implement, but how about having the zombies able to lose body parts? It could be implemented using the submodel system HL has for models. Would be really fun to have armless/gutless zombies coming after you.
We're hoping to do the first "big" playtest sometime this weekend, but it might get pushed back to Monday-Tuesday depending on how things go.
We know it's rough around the edges, but we don't want you guys to be *too* disappointed when you see it...
So this is a fun, fast, team based shootemup? I can suggest:
having dark areas where humans or zombies can hide;
having different zombies, you have a 1 in x chance of spawning as an <insert cool name> which has special powers. The team aspect of this would be that you would have about 30% with special powers, and about 70% just plain old meat shields. You would need to use teamwork to take down a cluster of camping humans;
also I would like to see a readyroom if that is not too hard, readyrooms are so the win.
Uh, and are we still emailing you or are you emailing us now? Count me in either way.
Be sure to fix some exploits and things which are just in plain bad taste. If you don't want to keep bunnyhopping in the game then remove it, if you don't want gliding remove it, both can be done easily in numerous ways allthough I haven't found a decent way of fixing the wall strafe bug but I haven't had much time to look at it either, I think that too is pretty simple.
If you don't want people to use lower lightgamma values than default be sure to lock it down. If you are going to model recoil be sure to remove the abillity to make "anti-recoil scripts" that move your gun down at the same speed your gun moves up due to recoil(could probably be done by making +mlook default and making +klook(correct name?) and +mlook mutually exclusive) etc.

Models? I can't model, but I have some Zombie Player Models for The Specialists that came with a pack. If someone could convert them to HL Zombie Bones, I think they'd work well:
Ok, the website is up with the basics on gameplay and some screenshots. Again, I stress that there's not necessarily a lot to see on the screenshots, since we're not using any special models as of yet, and the map really isn't too hot (I mean, *I* made it after all... ), but several of you have asked to see screenies, so here they are.
We'll be getting some forums soon so that the playtesters can give feedback and discuss, you know...erm... zombie stuff... with each other. We should have Steam functionality and be ready to do some playtesting in a week or less, probably less.
Thanks,
Twilight
PS If anyone knows of some good forums we can use (Bearing in mind that they'll need to be the free, hosted by another site kind of forums...), please let us know.

This sounds very much like the old Zombie Horror mod I worked on a long time ago, although I think it's very different now to how it was when I was on the team...
Good luck! Sounds like it will turn out to be a lot of fun
For those for whom the screenshots are not enough, or simply desire more "tingle" I am working on converting a few small pieces of some of our HLTV recorded playtests (Only 5 people, of course) into avi's so you can see how the game looks when you're actually playing. Again, don't expect fantastic animation or amazing models, but it will let you see the gameplay in action.
Can we see some screenshots from the zombie's perspective please? Thanks

Perhaps I can help you with the website. If you give me an idea of what you want I can try to do a design or so for you... What do ya say?
(Note: 3 Years of classes in web design under my belt just so you know, so this isn't out of nowhere. I've got some qualifications.)
I've set up an email specifically for the mod:
zombie_mod@yahoo.com
So you can direct all of your emails that way.
Thanks!

(BTW, DOOM, how's that Espionage mod coming?)

Sign me in! Zombies are too much fun not to help test!
And omegaman: its not coming along, cause HL2 (or any other engine capable of handling it) isn't out yet.
Where'd you get those, anyway?

It sounds awesome.
Kinda "Resident Evil'ish".

I might be able to help with weapon models ( haven't learned how to do humans and such yet but I might give it a whirl sometime soon)
I would like to do a map but.. meh..I'm not all that great.
