It allows you to pre-load it? Wouldn't allow me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
As I understand it, that means the game must be done, and they just don't want me to play it - either that or they're just withholding one or two vital files they can release really quick when it's done...
Roflol, a sidescrolling thingie with gordon in it....
OMG it requires a 1 Ghz CPU indeed! O.o I played 2d sidescrollers on like: 386'es!
geez....must have some kewl effects then <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
So it is going to be free, right? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Take a game, any game, close to being finished. A lot of the files, most sounds and sprites, some of the .dlls, are already done. 'Course, a lot of the vital code is still being evaluated, but the rest, which constitutes a big part of the in Steam-terms highly significant download, is already done. So why not allow people to d/l this part 'prematurely', thus reducing bandwith useage once the whole thing's done?
Ahh, i've been waiting for this so long, but it would appear to be coming.
And before anyone else thinks of trying, it would appear that the cg.exe (And all other files in the codename gordon.gcf) are encrypted and won't be decrypted until the release. Bah.
I've been waiting a long time for this. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I dont understand, why use the half life engine when you could just release it without halflfe <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The reason they're releasing it in steam I guess is to take away the problem of finding all those mirrors that'd be needed. It'd easily get a lot more players in because it's already there in steam. etc

Maybe that's what the new mod releases would look like as well.
