Aparently Service Pack 2 for winXP will be released with no anti piracy code in it.
thus, any one who is ussing a pirated copy of XP will now be recieving the same tech help as those who legaly bought it.
Microsofts explination for this is that they want to protect their customers from the detrimental effects of having so many unprotected systems out there (hopefuly slowing the advances of worms and such).
Combine with this Microsofts plans to have a much more 'pushy' set of safeguards (to prevent lazy users from just blowing off critical updates) and it seems like Microsoft is realy steping up to the attacks against it.
I for one will be interested to see how this works out.
