<div class="IPBDescription">It's road trip time!</div> I'm going down to E3 for the first time ever this year. Some friends from dP and I are going on a road trip down there tonight, starting at midnight.
I know it's kinda pointless to post this as a thread, seeing as how I probably won't be able to check any replies until saturday. But I just felt the need to share.
I Hope to bump into some people down there, if you see me by some happenstance, then come say hey. My forum avatar is what I actually look like and I'll probably be wearing a different shirt from my DigiPen collection on every day of the event.
E3 Baybee!!!!!!!

P.S. If by random chance anyone actually does bump into me, my name is Dave (since it's kinda hard to say [WHO]Them out loud as a noun).

on the other hand , please tell us about it.
there are ALOT of ways to get into E3
the 'normal' ways are to be affiliated with a news organisation or with a gaming company.
DigiPen (if I remember correctly) is basicaly 'video game makers college' aka, probably not that hard to get into E3 if yah go there <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

one of these days, I will find my way to go (And time, and $$) and then go regularly (and I swaer I will not get drunk and end up in Japan)
My best friend is getting to go this year, a free trip fully payed for from Make A Wish.
Hmmm, I have to infect myself with a potentially terminal disease, but I get to go to E3...
Why must the universe torment me with such difficult decisions?
Does E3 really balance out Cancer?
Probably.

From his desriptions of treatment, no it doesnt, think of it like a consolation prize.
I could of gone to E3 if I got my job sooner at a GameStop, but oh well.
Not like i'm missing much. Everything they say and show off at E3 will be on a god awful site such as GameSpy or some very other better website. lol
Awww <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
What is your friend ailed with?
What did I say before on this post here? hmm..
I think something like.
I wish I could go, but oh well.
oh, and llama: I believe he said Cancer (ech)
and yah, for people wondering about E3:
From what I understand they are not all the picky. You could probably get in based on being part of your schools paper <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
So long as you are part of SOME news organisation, you can probably get in (fansites and stuff like that probably could, based on validity of the site)
As for the E3.. hurray for you, I haven't really wanted to go before.. but then the last time I did want to was when they released and showcased Nintendo's "Dolphin" system. (cookie for whoever knows what it is called now) ;-)
its teh Gamecube(i'm wanting 2 cookies, someone still owes me one)
bm >> digipen
(hands a cookie to razor) I am not the one who owes you one.. I think, if I am feel free to have two cookies on my behalf. :-)
I don't care if he's in Spain, get there! That's just waste, I would love to be there this year, MGS3 and HL2 are sure to be big stories... *drools* oh well.

EDIT: For teh first time in 1200 some posts I forgot to put my name...
I'm finally down in LA.
Pictures will come eventually, my friend Josh just bought a $500 camera like a month ago and he's been a real shutterbug with it so far. Lots of pictures of the barren wasteland known as California.
come to nevada we got even more wasteland!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->, cept where i live, its all hick farmers
I don't believe it was ever called Dolphin, that was just the project name.

Visit Paranoia and I, if you like Poi that is...
The day in a nutshell:
6:30am, wake up and get the group ready to go.
7:40am, leave for the convention center.
~9am, arrive at convention center and get in what we thought was the express registration line.
~10 minutes later, we get inside the building, find out that it wasn't the express registration line, end up walking through the lobby, around the side, see the counter, then try to find the back of the line. We end up walking out the door, around the side of the building, and ironically about 20 feet BEHIND the line we started in first time through.
~10am, finally done with "express" registration.
10:10am, me and my buddy Jeep get in a mysterious line at the Nintendo corner. We have no idea what the line is for, but Jeep promises there will be free stuff.
10:50am, we're further down the line, and we think it's a mock gameshow where we'll have to fake enthusiasm about pokemon.
11:10am, we're further down the line, thankfully the show has NOTHING to do with pokemon and we breathe a sigh of relief.
11:40am, we get to the end of the line and it's a show about the DS, hosted by the guy that does the voice of Mario, Wario and Luigi (he's a little weird to see when he does a voice)
11:50am, the DS show is over and we now have "5 minutes" to try and cram between people and play a DS, that looks like it's gonna fail, so we just say fukkit and leave with a free shirt. The moral of the story is that the DS show blows chunks, seeing as how half the show is actually the same promo we saw while waiting in line. So, yeah, Congress-man showed up at the end of the DS show and handed us each the shaft to make sure we knew just how much time we had wasted.
The next 6 hours are more of a blur for me as I went out on my own. I will say this though, for about 4 hours straight, I had this recurring thought in my head. It happened so often that I thought it was a broken record or something. The thought was "Get the **** out of my way you damn idgets, walkways are for walking, not clogging."
It's amazing how fast a 20 foot wide walkway can literally go from full flow to only allowing 1 row of single file people to pass.
So, yeah, highlights. I played "Tribes: Vengeance" for a good solid hour. It's gonna be awesome, except for the new inventory station interface which I *hope to god* is only temporary, otherwise it'll kill fast loadouts and the all too familiar Tribes1 inventory lines will be back.
MGS3 is gonna be awesome, Neo Contra is only so-so. Viewtiful Joe 2 is so much like the original that it's sick. Driv3r crashes and is at best a crappy knock off of GTA3. And "The Phantom" has interesting potential, but the receiver overheats easily.
Josh says that pictures will be available tomorrow morning, but seeing as how we're leaving early again, I won't be able to provide linkage until at least 8pm tomorrow.
YAR!!!!!
And be sure to check out the new HL2 footage. Its brand new, it kicks ****, and its worth your time. I just soiled my pants watching the 700mb version. And if you have a second to ask a question to Gabe Newell ask if they're gonna be doing HLDM too. :P

Not possible. I don't touch XBoxes....ever. I never have, and never will.
Although I might go see HL2, seeing as how it's right next to the "Tribes: Vengeance" area. And I *KNOW* I'm gonna play more of that tomorrow.
