Psh, kids today.

(weeps at the fact that in Internet terms, 24 is Methuselah status these days)

i didn't actually own it myself, but we had an Atari 2600 down in the basement for quite some time. older brothers i believe. didn't really work by the time i knew what a video game was though. for shame. looked fun. ^_^

:edit: On a happier note, the NES and Genesis were great fun!

Wooha. That brought back memories of trying to type in games listed in the backs of books centered around the games. Great fun, and a sadly lost pastime, traded in for those who just say 'screw it' and download a compiled version, or do something else instead of feeling that rush when all your hard work and time pays off. :b

The annoying thing is when you spent a few hours typing in code only to find it didn't work!

In fact no, the worst one ever was when I actually got one to work, it was my longest ever, took so long (and I wasn't a very fast type way back in the day) and it worked! It was great! I danced around the room a bit then showed it to the family... which meant that everyone was there to witness my major tantrum when the POWER STOPPED WORKING! YES, A FLIPPIN POWER CUT

I stopped typing them in after that. Used to make my own in basic but... well they were basic

This brought back painful memories... need sugar...

So the average dude who plays NS is 24? It sucks to be discriminated against because you're not old...

The first game I played in my own home was Sonic the Hedgehog, but my very first was Doom...

Wasn't that declared worst game ever by Amiga Power magazine? I think you must have accounted for 50% of the profit made by that game.

On a side note I was born a little late for the likes of Manic Miner, but just in time for the original Lemmings, wewt! I think I still have my old Amiga 500 in the garage, but I doubt it still works, especially if the garage leaked in the rain...

I never owned a console until my PS2 which I bought nearly 2 years ago with my own money, damn cheapskate parents...

Although they DID buy it to help with my homework, shame that didn't pan out

sorry, i don't remember those games. my dad never bought those. we did have zaxxon, pac-man, paratrooper, centipede, etc... which were all very much like those old school games. similar fun times, and zaxxon was nigh-impossible for me.

I love my Speccy, HE STILL WORKS.

    AND

The Loading process gave you enough time to make a nice cup of tea before settling down to 2 hours of CHAOS. Great game that, hehe, serious LAN potential.

First video game I ever played was Space Invaders on a display Atari when I was like 4 or something. Then my sister got and NES and I remember playing Duck Hunt, Mario Bros and what not. But my dad threw the robot away because he was afraid we'd hurt ourselves on it. I could sell taht thing now a days for a couple thousand dollars...

I feel so left out. I didn't play any of those games. ):

My first game was proably Space Invaders (I have footage of my mum with me on her lap playing Space Invaders yelling "SHOOT! SHOOT!") or Nibbles in BASIC on my first PC. I remember my dad paying a thousand dollars for 16 meg of ram. X-|

my 1st game was Castle Adventure in the good ol days of DOS.

I had a floppy with several games on it and I loved the Castle Adventure!

google turned this up!!! I found it again!!!

I had no clue it was made in 1984 either...
