    I am shocked, confused, and desprately seeking more info, and preferably some translations. WTH is going on here?
  • MantridMantrid Lockpick Join Date: 2003-12-07 Member: 24109Members
    Yeah, has this been translated?

    I'm not going to learn Japanese just so I can read about various insults to my old operating system...

    I LIKED Windows ME... even though it crashed often and randomly, especially during important discussions in Neverwinter Nights (of course, Dial-Up also conspired to crash during those conversations, too).

    The flash animation's song is actually an I've song (I've is a group that does a lot of anime and japanese game title songs), used as the opening of a game called "Colorful Kiss" - i believe it's an h-game, or maybe a dating sim - from the opening credits it seems like an h-game.

    Anyway, I have a hard time believe this is real.

    <a href='http://nijiura-os.hp.infoseek.co.jp/' target='_blank'>Well found a link to many pictures</a>

    WARNING WARNING WARNING This link may have adult images in it. I havn't gone through the whole lot yet but my findings on other sites have contained considerable amounts of hentai. So you have been warned! If this is inappropriate mods please take action, however what I have seen so far has been perfectly tasteful.
    <span style='color:white'>Now <i>that</i> is an interesting use of the word...</span>
    <span style='color:red'>Addendum by Fam: The adult section involes clicking a link that says (in english) Yes. So click the one that says No. Or prepare to be very scared.</span>

    The "official" name of this particular art appears to be "OS-tan" and as far as I can tell it started as fan-art on www.2chan.net which is a massive Japanese image board. It has aquired something of cult following, but as far as I can tell, there is no official work as in anime or manga episodes.

    EDIT: Oh by the way the site is in Japanese. You can babelfish it for navigation and hilarity!

    This is disturbing on so many levels. Hell, this is disturbing on every level imagineable. At the same time the very concept is freaking hillarious, and yes Windows2000 and XP are hawt. And yes, ME does appear to be doing something X-rated. And as for this:

    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><a href='http://heika-love.cool.ne.jp/troubled_windows.html' target='_blank'>Hey I found a flash</a><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    This is one of those links (much like Goatse) I promise myself never to click, ever.

    O.k, I probably will later, with the sound turned down low, and when everyone else is out, purely out of morbid curiosity (which is ironically why most people clicked goatse as well...).

    You'll notice that Japan didn't make all of these freaky cartoons until AFTER there was a good deal of nuclear fall-out from the United States WWII attack.

    Japanese music is just like most everything else in mainstream Japanese culture, it is hyper-western, merely taking a concept that the western world has, and blowing it so far out of proportion to the point where it becomes rediculous. And their pop music is the same, you just take our pop music, and make it about a zillion times more annoying, cheesy, corny, and just overal BAD and there you have J-pop. It works about the same with most of their other types of music too, punk, ska, all other kinds of alternative are there in Japan, but they take them and bring it to the extreme, so they get things like japanese noise punk, and their weird-azz kind of speed ska with barely any guitar to speak of at all.
