well, im ASSUMING you meant PMS. If so, the dont bother with the agrument. Its as real as it needs to be, and unless your a women, you wont really know. From what ive been told, some women get it, some dont, and in varying degrees if they do. Its been likened to being punched in the stomach every 15 min or so, then see how good of a mood your in after about an hour.

PMS is not period pains. PMS is the heigtened hormone levels as period approaches causing varying moods swings. Anxiety, shortness of temper and ease of being upset are common symptoms.

What your talking about is period pains, which is uncontrolled contractions of the muscles surrounding the uterus.
