If you get kicked in the nads, then you did something wrong.
Most MA schools will teach you situational selfdefence.
and most of them consist of getting the frik outa there/not being in the situation.
If you end up in a fight with some one who is untrained, your gona have some edge, but if you end up against some one who brawls regularly, yah, you probably get your but kicked. Then agian, you probably would have any way.
I know how to handle my self in a fight. I also know how to avoid them.
I can deal with grabs, punches, kicks, knees, wrestling, heck I technicaly know how to defend against a weapon.

I'd add to the thread but there's nothing that hasn't already been said I don't think ^^ I did a little judo, karate, tae kwon do and aikido in the past but it's more for fun and excercise; you really shouldn't be learning this stuff to fight. The very few times I've unfortunately had to get physical I just end up biting, hissing and generally scaring the conflict to a rushed end with tremendous amounts of uncontrolled violent rage =P

/me smiles (much of the love apreciated and returned)
yah...
bloody **** off is also often better then slightly trained.
However, to drag this back on topic:
People have pointed out: MA is not always the best form of self defence. Self Defence Classes are. However this is a tendency for a lot of schools to incorporate practicle selfdefence in with their normal stuff.
As I said, my school is designed for fighting in any way shape or form. However, we are also trained how to avoid situations, how to be ready with out provoking an attack.
You would be surprised how quickly you can move from a seeimngly neutral stance to one of combat redieness.

First rule of all martials, at least any of those who teach well, is to avoid the fight to begin with.

Sorry, I just needed to say it. It's my current favourite of the 5 forms.
