Does Anyone Here Work At A Printshop Like Kinkos?

question regarding preferred formatting
Just a question for anyone who works at a professional printing place. Let's say I want to have a hard copy of the Planescape: Torment novelization rather than just a document file on the computer. (Would be really nice to have one bound similarly to the one in those pictures, even if it's paperback instead of hardcover.) Could I just give the people at the printing place the .pdf from that site in its odd-to-read-but-meant-for-double-sided-printing format and then have them bind it, or would I have to give them the word document instead?
If you're feeling generous and want to show off your knowledge of such stuff, go ahead and quote me a price while you're at it

    I also have a question for anyone who works in a place like this.

    Can I bring in an uber high res photoshop file (or other ofrmat, like targa or even bitmap, but UBER HIGH RES) and get the photo printed at a professional quality level? Or is there anywhere else that can do this? And for a reasonable cost?

    I want to do a 5x6 or maybe even 8x11 (or if its cheap maybe even make a POSTER) of this for my apartment. :)

    When you have a slow day, do you all take turns photocopying your ****? I know I would.

    I am surprised I wasn't able to see this previously, darn those days off work.

    Ok.. to start I do not work at Kinkos, but I have taken items there to have printed in the uber-high res poster size and to have books, of my own making bound.

    As for you Marik, yes the .pdf works just fine for them, as for the price of it being hard cover or paperback, I am not sure on for my books were not 120 pages long. Though being in two different locations could make a difference, my price was only 39.00.

    As for you doom, the uber-high res picture in either 8x11 or 5x6. Professionally done, yes it can be done and not to bad of a price, mine I believe was around 10 dollars. Although I only did an 8 x 11.

    Thirdly, I do not know if I have the correct answer to your question weggy but, I don't think so, at least not while actually getting paid, but then again some people are weird like that. teehee.

    @Marik

    As a fore warning they might not be willing to copy it as it is copyprotected material.

    Though you are alowed to make paresonal bckups of media, alot of copy places will not give you copies of copy protected stuff.

    Forinstances I have The BBC Shakespear sieries on Beta....
    None of the buggers around here will copy it to DVD for me ;( (for legal reasons)
