I Just Uninstalled Every Game I Have

<div class="IPBDescription">Future troll detected</div> So I was walking around town a week ago with some friends
of mine. We had some kebab and talked about random crap.
We live near this huge lake, and we were out at about sunset.
As I turn my head to look to the left, I see that lake.

I go "Wow! Look at that pixel shading!".

My friend: " You need help."

Now this is nothing that bad. I mean it's just a random thing.
Could happen to anyone right?

So yesterday im on my way to class after recess.
As I walk in I literally bunnyhop through the door, and look
above it to see wether there are any skulks. Everyone kind of gives me
a strange look, except for the fat kid in class, who's the only one who gets it.
I just sit down quietly in denial.

Now that, I assume is getting more seriuos. So I decided I uninstall all my games.
I did just that and I feel great. When I have nothing to do besides reading
and homework, I just check the forums, play around with 3ds max
or just listen to music. I only left Starcraft and C&C Generals though,
since those games I play with a few friends of mine every now and then.

I promised my self, that the next time I'll play an FPS or anything else
that's more violent than necessary, is when I get a new PC.
Thats about at the end of summer at the earliest.

Now all I have to do is survive until the summer vacation, wich is going
to be really busy as I'm getting a job (whee!) and I trust
I'll be rid of my addiction by then.

Expect to see my postcount hit 3000 before summer tho <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

hehehe, thats sorta along the lines of why my postcount is so friken high <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I didn't actualy unistall the games, but when I was in college I couldn't play anything online (bad connection there), and I always felt bad about playing games when I should be doing work.....

that just ment I trolled the forums instead of doing my work <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I seem to have that issue again, although since I work with bryce so much I tend to think in terms of how to manipulate the "terrain mesh" to create the landscapes I see.... I have issues...

I just got bored of all of my games.

So I wait patiently for World of WarCraft, when my addiction will return.

    DaMu... you have a recess? That's pretty funny being that I haven't been to one since 6th grade. I'm in 9th now almost 10th. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i don't believe you bunny hopped through the door and looked for a skulk. if you even attempted that you need more help then just uninstalling games.

I'm just starting to fall prone to "been there, done that" syndrome =/
Most games I play now I have little patience for because I can usually just point out everything it's doing has already been done in about 5 other games I played and one of them did it better -.-
Playing Lineage II made me appreciate Ragnarok Online lol.

Games like Harvest Moon sorta keep my interest better just because they're not only a rarer type of game bringing a sort of fresh gameplay, but because they're a pleasant change from the thousands of clone games washing around the market ^^

It's really getting to the point where I enjoy modding more than playing though, if only because I'm at least creating something I want instead of waiting for others to do it for me =/

I walked off of a bus once, and wondered to myself "Woah, what happened to my hive sight?"

My real issue though is with using VHE. I can see how the brushwork looks on buildings, and shudder when I see what looks like "poorly aligned textures".

Those of you who don't know the difference between reality and fantasy, please stop playing videogames and get away from the Internet now before you give more evidence to a senator to ban videogames and/or handguns.

    That is all.

I agree, you people that are WAY too addicted to gaming tend to give casual gamers like myself a bad name sometimes. The worst gaming "addiction" I've had was when I first found NS. I got about half the sleep I usually get that first week. Once or twice I only play or think about a single game for like a day and a half, then I realize I've had too much of it and then it never happens again for a long time.

I have a moderatre addiction to gaming, but even if I didn't I still say that I would have loose ties to reality because, in truth, how do you know that this is reality??

I don't know what your talking about... too much games?

    Pfft.

    I only said "Commander, I need a med-pack" once.

    ...or twice.

...ok, a lot of times, but thats besides the point.

And I swear the bunny-hopping and CS jumps are as a joke. Hey, I'm not the only one who does the "CS Jump." Watch S.W.A.T., the scene where they go into the sewer, the one guy does a CS Jump over a small pipe. I swear its there, my friends and I all saw it.

    Blork, Ragnarok...

I've committed myself to not getting addicted to any game I own until World of WarCraft comes out, dammit. I just recently got BF:V for my birthday and I've rationed myself on it, it's really working out well. But, oh boy am I going to be loving WoW when it eventually does come out. I'm going to go hardcore the first weekend I have it, hehe.

I'm not much into games to begin with, but I was absolutely hooked on Everquest for a few months back when it was first out. A friend of mine recently picked up Final Fantasy XI, and I'm starting to get that MMO itch again.

I thought for sure I heard my credit card giggling in glee when I was reading the info on the back of the box earlier this week. It hasn't stop smiling ever since I saw my friend playing FFXI earlier this evening.

...... ya know, I just realized something - if I'm visualizing mad hatter credit cards, then I'm thinking games aren't my problem. Maybe I'm just a seriously screwed up individual. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I get things like that too, all the time. The thing is, when I cut back on games so I can get more programming in I just start to think in terms of programming instead of thinking in terms of games. It's hard to think of a good example... *think think think* ...so I can't supply one

My first addiction was with zelda on nintendo. I couldn't stop playing until I beat it.

Then it was metroid, then super metroid, then starcraft, then diablo 2, then natural selection.

It's reasons like this that try to tell me to wait before getting a new PC, because I don't want to be capable of having an addiction to half-life 2.

Burr, you get 50 nostalgia points for that code. And a cookie for everone who knows what that code is all about.

Yeah, you people need to learn how to ration your gaming! I've actually managed to condition myself to feel bad (in more ways than one) if I don't do something productive after a couple of hours. That way, I can play NS for an hour, then do some homework, etc. ad nauseum. Unless it's crunch time. Like now. Where gaming does not exist.

Nah, that's just an artist's intuition. When that starts happening with video games though... hehe

Don't feel wierd DaMu, I've often had to fight the urge to look up everytime I go in a door. Wierd...

p.s. I used to be able to moderate my gaming, until I started playing competively. i've dropped all clans for now (i don't even stress about getting in practice time for NS anymore) and it's all good

Well, I don't know about the artistic point of view. I would say though, at least since I do not have internet, at least at home yet, I do not have to worry about being addicted to NS.... well... ok.. so I play a lot with the bots at home.

I'm all about zelda, and as for that code, agreed, cookie and brownie points awarded. :-)

When some of my other NS playing friends see each other we make jokes all the time.

    "Hey man whats up?"

"Ahh nothing just out cap'in res nodes."

(There are several steam/heat vents around near buildings that constantly let just out white colored steam)
