wait! I get it! this poll is an april fool!!!

...seriously though, if DII wins my faith in humanity will probably run screaming at a cliff before falling off it, whirling it's arms comically as it plummets thousands of feet before finally crunching to the bottom in a boneshattering impact... it will then run hamsterwheels in hell for all eternity thinking 'jee, this is fun!'

Well, we should keep in mind that it's not exactely difficult to circumvent GSIs cookies - I guess the game with the most obsessive-compulsive community will eventually win

that's true... it's not as if diablo II fans actually stop playing the game to vote...

Maybe we should start up methadone-style clinics where they get a mouse they can carry with them with a small digital display showing numbers that go up after an increasing amount of clicks? For the heavier dose users we could also add in displays that randomly display "you found the amazingly rare waffle beater +30 with 45% chance of making your breakfast fluffy and white, +3 to charisma and a heckload of other stats" every now and again =3

I wouldn't put it past MS (and most other game companies for that matter) to rig it themselves too.

REVOTE! You need a Gamespy ID to vote, but it's worth it for this, you have until 12:00 PM PST to get OOT ahead!

OoT's losing by 605 votes... This looks bad. I mean, choosing by the pictures is easy enough. To the left you have bad-arse Link, to the left and stupid Skull. Skulls suck and are over used. What's worse than a Skull? Diablo II.

another thing people forget in the diablo player skill tree is "create multiple accounts"
At level one this lets you make multiple accounts for even more muling, duping and all-round lameness, each consequetive level increases your "too much spare time" stat by 20% and has a 3% chance of turning you into a waste of skin =P

noticably the MMORPG class also inherits this skill in it's tree =o

Did anyone else get really stressed about the skill distribution in D2? I'd worry that I put, say, one point into a war cry when I should've saved it for the Whompy Crush super move or whatever at a later level. PSO adopted this to a lesser degree on the Gamecube with a maximum material limit.

I'm really anal about stats I can't change. Thank the Lord for PSO's dressing room feature, so I can change my female hunter's clothes regularly. Kawaii!

CHrono Trigger owns. Really.
Since Chrono Trigger is out, and so is Super Metroid, I hope Half-Life will win

yeah flint, the fact that stats usually can't be regressed in RPGs always got me annoyed... once you learned something it was set in stone, even if you never used the stupid thing ever again; not a lot of room for exploring your character and stuff, and in many ways I primarily blame the 'locked' character creation for people needing multiple slots =P

The main reason for the material limit though was because a lot of people took up my little battlecry of 'Mags are useless at high level!!!'. Notice in v1 that when you started capping the only thing your mag was useful for wearing was for looking pretty or if you had an invinci mag like mine that would instantly make you invulnerable if an enemy even batted an eyelid at you XD
Mag blasts were poop too, consistantly poop... they only really become worth doing if you combine them; there was some magic combination involving 3 simultaneous mag blasts that cast shifta and deband on everyone at such high strengths even a top level force couldn't come close to touching it =o

I always used Leilla as my mag blast - nothing like stopping the party for 10 seconds just for a free Resta.

only stops them if they're in visual range when you do it... if they're far enough away then they don't get stuck watching, and if you're juuuust at the right range everything darkens and the camera looks but you can still run around XD

actually I logged in, you can multi vote if you have a router, I voted 15 times for Zelda and logged off : P

And stop with the D2 bashing its not the bad of a game. Just happens to be filled with drooling morons, much like CS.

The thing I don't get is why DIablo 2 was considered better than Diablo? I played the original to death, got in the beta for 2, and since it had nothing really new except for a story, once that was done, I was done. If it was the original game in there, I might actually consider voting for it :/

It's because D2 had a solid online community, and total blizzard support. Their anti hacker policies are only rivaled by Valve.

Trust me D2 online was a hell of a lot of fun before it got to be all about bots scripts and item hunting.

I'm voting for Ocarina of time. On it's own it justifys owning an N64, and I daresay it is one of the greatest games of all time EVAR, yes, you heard me right, EVAR.

I am also currently playing it through again.... creepy co-incidence.

*edit* Diablo is only winning quite simply because it is a PC game, wheras Zelda 64 was not only a console game, but also a console game for a fairly unpopular onsole.

Now who do you think is more likely to vote, a PC gamer a console gamer? No contest. Unfortunately.

This contest sucks

yeah... I quite enjoyed the original diablo, but DII just didn't feel the same. As for the online community you might as well have played with bots. I'm a total chatterbox in most online games and I struggled to get a conversation out of the other players... if they typed a word without me mentioning items I 'didnt need' I felt like I'd accomplished the impossible XD

There was one chatty guy I bumped into but it turns out he was a PSO player; we spent the whole game just talking out in the wilderness area on a pile of dead bodies. Eventually one of the 'usual' DIIers comes on and says as much as we could get out of him; "portal".
I drop a nice warp and say "it's the yellow one!". Course, the PSO guy got it and we had a giggle but the DII guy just stayed silent for like 2 minutes, didn't come through the portal and we saw him disconnect =/

Taking the actual game into account, sorry but it just didn't seem as fun as diablo for all it's clickiness. No idea why to this day and even ignoring PSO's influence I still haven't the foggiest why DII bored me to death so badly where the original Diablo had at least maintained my attention =o
Maybe they just took it too far? ~shrugs~

it does? all I could see is that it added two overpowered classes and a new level waaaaay at the end. I never got to see the new act because the old ones bored me to death and back before I even reached it with my assassin/amazon/necromancer =/
As for the other changes I honestly don't deem them significant enough to repair the dull repitition of the gameplay
