Go to hell. We all know D2 had no storyline. We all know it was a clickfest(though, a FUN AS HELL clickfest). But we also know that OoT is a much better game easily.

If Diablo 2 is named best game ever, I WILL do something. Nothing drastic, but I MIGHT...poke my freind who plays Diablo 2 a lot. TWICE!!!
And the clickfest has trained them to vote spam with perfect efficency. Look at its previous matches, it had managed 10000+ votes on EVERY grudge its been in. MADNESS! Not only has it beat KOTOR and Fallout 2, but StarCraft as well. Think about that...StarCraft! It shoulda lost all three matches. WTH! FFS! WAH!!
Zelda 64 (OoT) was a great action RPG. The Zelda series seems to share a bond with Metroid, with the hidden areas you can access when you get new items, and the huge bosses with specific weakpoints. Unfortunately, there's not much else to do once you get 100% of all items in the game.
It's your choice what game you like more. ;)

Oh so true, the large majority of voters probably haven't even played both games. (Hell, a bunch probably haven't even -seen- both games...)
So true... just look how many people talk about Halo like its the best thing since the NES... ::is overwhelm by emotion and breaks down crying at the death of Bungie::.... ok, I'm better now.
Anyway, I never played D2, so I wouldn't have voted, but OoT was one of the few games I ever played to its fullest (as in, got everything, not just beat it) not twice, not thrice, but 4 times (I had to beat it again, I couldn't help it, I couldn't just let it sit there on the GC memory card unfinished, it'd be a travisty!).
EDIT: and there are like, maybe 6 or 7 games in existance that I would even bother to compare to FallOut2, losing to anything by as much as it did proves that the majority of gamers have no taste.
Best case scenario: Half-Life beats Halo, and then beats Diablo 2. Doom beats Super Mario 3. Doom and Half-Life face off.
Worse case scenario: Doom loses to Super Mario 3, Diablo 2 beats Halo and / or Half-life, Supermario 3 and Diablo 2 faceoff... how boring can you get?
WTH kind of contest is this? DOOM may have had a nifty engine, and it did break some new ground, but it certainly doesn't rank up there with OoT, SMB3, or the like.
I'd love to see it be SMB3 vs HL too, then I could make an informed vote (SMB3 all the way).

Same contest that D2 beat KOTOR, FallOut2, Starcraft AND OoT without breaking a sweat?
*okay, so it did break a sweat with starcraft, and it hasnt beaten OoT yet. But its slowly inching to 20 thousand votes...Nothing is going to touch that kind of zealotry. Id like to think SMB3 and HL has a chance, but D2 is very likely to win.
