I think speaking a foreign language on a server is just wrong, whatever the language is of the server. Kindly say "I don't understand" and "please give me waypoints instead of yelling at me because I don't understand a word you're saying."
well aren't all good server in englsih speaking part of the world. really let them explain how to play a game to noobs in other language while you can mute them in your client. Admins kicking these kind of people are just no different to racist act.(not saying the admin are racist, but some ppl does take it as racist act)
this is really different than some odd kid coming in the game and spam some weird noice with their high pitch voice.

Obviously the flames and racism were inappropriate but you can't blame people for being irritated and muting(them at least). I get annoyed when a 10 year old starts yelling in the mic or similar nonsense, and similarly when a completely foreign language is being forced into my headset it's just distracting. I don't see any reason why people shouldn't mute those who can't speak English since there's obviously no chance of communicating with them. And you have to understand that this game is based heavily on communcation, and it is very difficult to play with people who don't respond to what you're saying.
Any form of racism, sexism, or predjudice of any sort is completely wrong and immoral.
I would like to note though that in todays society people of different ethnic backgrounds do not seem to mix easily, I dont know why this happpens, it just does.
Perhaps muting us would have been appropriate if we were simply chatting about nonsense, but we weren't and I was trying to translate what they were saying. Of course, there were times where I wish I hadn't translated (ie. Let's get sensory chambers before anyone drops other chamber).
Muting them, okay, but muting me was frustrating because I was unable to communicate with my team even when I used english.
But what's done is done, let's hope no one experience a problem like this ever again.

If I went to German server, and proceded to start yammering in English, when the majority of players speak only German I would expect them to mute me. Its inconsiderate of ME to do that.
Unfortunatly I only speak English. I've tried to learn other languages, but they just don't seem to take. Heh, I got confused by some apperent racism the other day. But this was the reverse of what you normally expect. I got some guy with something like -==~0 or something as his name who started insulting me as soon as I joined. From the gist of what he was saying I kinda got the feeling he wasn't american/a native english speaker, and thus I got the feeling that he was being racist(Culturalist? not sure what to call it) against americans.... Eventually, after responding semi-civilly a few times and then ignoring him after he continued with the insults, I decided that he was in fact not a racist/nation-ist, but that quintessential staple of the internet, a troll. And that leads me to this question... which is worse in internet terms, a troll or a racist? Sure, a racist can be an ugly thing, but they're only targetting one group. A troll's goal is specifically to anger/upset anyone and everyone they can...

Speaking a languge that noone understands is annoying and really unhelpful, so don't do it.

I've never run into this problem, and I never hear any Taiwanese anyway (Taiwan is slowly being chinized. The Chinese are trying to culturally and physically take over). I don't understand Mandarin, the main "Chinese" language, and most Taiwanese people speak that now anyhow.
Anyway, on topic. I joined a Taiwanese NS server once but everyone spoke Mandarin, and I'm illiterate when it comes to Chinese characters. This sucks. I really hate it when your culture is slowly becoming extinct simply because the "Chinese culture" is more practical. Some Native Taiwanese parents are no longer teaching their children Taiwanese, instead letting Mandarin take over.
While I understand the annoyance that the English players may feel, simply muting "FOBs" shows that xenophobia is still very much alive in the U.S. Even after Brown v. Board of Education, Shaw v. Reno, and an anti-racism campaign, hearing non-English words spoken still makes some English speakers feel superior and thus mute. Maybe it's true, maybe I'm just ranting...
Muting the translater, especially, is sheer disrespect. While I might not want to hear talking that I can't understand, muting someone who is trying to help... ouch.

Chen Shui-Bian is a frickin idiot if he planned his own assassination. He is not a frickin idiot. Therefore, he did not plan his own assassination for political gain.
There are thousands of people protesting in front of the presidential compound in Taiwan because Chen Shui-Bian of the Democratic Progressive Party won by a narrow margin. When the opposing party, the Kuomintang, won in the past, there were no protests. At all. That's because they are all killed or "disappeared" in the middle of the night. Chen Shui-Bian's wife is paralyzed. She was paralyzed when a truck "mysteriously" drove into a rally and ran over her.
TAIWAN IS <u>NOT</u> A PART OF CHINA - a fact, not a debatable statement.
