What are some of your favorite combinations of upgrades for marine and alien when playing combat. You know, you only have 10 levels you can go, so only so many upgrades/evolutions.

For marines I go for JP or HA, which doesnt leave many options open although I think all marines should get level 1 armor first.
Onos

Superskulk with possibility to gorge if needed
focus, celerity, silence, sof, regen, ability 2, ability 3, adrenaline, (gorge)
Marine
armor1, weapon1, resupply,
-> shotgun, weapon2, weapon3, armor2, jp
-> armor2, jp (doesn't matter)
-> shotgun, gl, motion, weapon2, weapon3, welder
-> shotgun, hmg, weapon2, weapon3, motion/welder
I have to say, one game we played (on a 24 person NS server), all 12 of us aliens went super-skulk and got xeno. It wasn't really a serious game in the first place, and the rine team sucked anyway. Let's just say... the sound of about 8 skulks xenoing at the SAME TIME is scary as hell. It just kept coming in waves haha.
But question for everyone... whats the BEST weapon combo w/ armor to you guys for rines? At our last LAN party, we were all arguing over what was the best combo, but of course in the end it came down to how skilled the person was and if they had backup. Just curious tho.
Onos and fades...go for a few JP's with GL's...
Really no one upgrade path is the best, it really depends on the team attacking.

Focus screws me as an Onos.
Of course, depending on the situation there, I sometimes get MT or Resupply or a Welder.
Battle Gorge: Hive 2, SOF, Hive 3, Celerity, * Regen/Adren/Cara
I also end up getting Cloaking or Silence.
The Star is the point at which I go gorge, or I wait for more upgrades, but I never do before I get my web. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The reason for getting web before going gorge and getting sof too is so that i can xeno huge groups of rines and level up faster.
Once I'm a batle gorge, I often set traps and lie in wait. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
My traps are often quite elaborate, which includes some webbing near the ceiling to catch any jpers. My web is nromally on the ground or high up, so they are less likely to see it.
One thing I pride myself on is my ability to web JPers out of the air (without previously placed webs)
Super Lerk: Celerity and Focus/SOF,* Carapace/Regen/Adren/Silence
The way I do it is I get focus or celerity, depending ont he map (bigger ones = celerity), or depending on the number of players, i get sof (small number = sof extremely helpful)
Once I'm lerk I own.
I almost never go fade or onos, and normally don't stay skulk till the end, and if I do, i just follow my battle gorge one, but just never go gorge. (thus, i do lots of xeno, using sof, so then i weaken or kill as many as possible, and send tons of rines really quickly to the respawn queue.

That's what i usually get, after lvl.6 i choose upgrades depending the Aliens/Marines.

p.s. I hate super skulks, in a long battle they become useless.

Those are the two most common things I get, so have fun laughing at them. My setups are really offensive in concept, but it works really well if you have others in HA and JP. Please note, if I'm on a combat server, I do -not- get HA or JP.....it improves my survivability in true NS when it really matters....after you dodge focus fades with a shottie, then non-focus fades aren't that big of an issue. For me, NS:C is just a training ground.

If I don't have to spend on a welder or something like that, I get W2 before A2.
As for HA, replace all the JPs with HAs. I usually serve as the firepower on the team. I have it soon then most and use it more effectively. If someone ever complains though that I got a GL, then next game I get an HMG and show them I was handicaping myself.

I find this combo good because ur not a vanilla lerk for anytime at all.
I hate saving too early because you get raped by those marines. A leap
focus skulk is all you need to level up, but a lerk without celerity is useless.
