Game lockage ahoy.
And yes I am fully aware the option can be turned off, but that's only AFTER you have updated Steam.
Such bad design decisions...
By the time I had realised this... I now already had a locked version of CS:CZ on my PC.... god I hate CS....
AND LO I OPENED THE 5TH GATE AND I BEHELD A GREEN PROGRAM, AND GAMES OF MUCH LOCKING RODE BEHIND IT.

That post made no sense... or maybe I'm just tired...

The "advertisement" is actually less of an ad and more of a notice that it is now downloading the game. The only way to stop it obviously is manually go in and do so.
Give me a break, here.
my computer never crashes, but now I have to hard reboot whenever I quit NS
they best get fixin' it...
what sense does it make for them to automatically install on your computer a game THAT ISN'T EVEN OUT YET?!1!/?/!?/
Steam won't connect and it crashes.

Same here. I have to do an end task for NS :|
Gawd.. is it that hard to make something work valve?
try win2k
STEAM is a good app, don't be blinded by it not working like this... the idea is solid and since nothing of the sort has ever existed... it's pretty decent. These are the woes of the PC, everyone has a different setup. VALVe really has done a good job of making sure everything gets fixed and works and runs smoothly, they're also a little busy too ya know? LOL, Half-Life 2 and patching up the security holes in STEAM and HL2 left in the wake of the source code leak, not to mention answereing questions from modders (like myself) personally. Cut them some slack guys, they're neither Bill Gates nor the Anti-Christ. (Some would say the two are sononimous )

edit: And isnt downloading a locked fully complete version of an unreleased game just asking to be hacked?
And Josiah, your not a minority- 80% of steam users are running fine after the patch. First time I d/led the patch it was messed, so I reinstalled and did it again, and now it works fine(so I'm in that 20%). Its just the other 80% are too busy playing their game
Edit: And BTW, you can cancel the "Loading" of Condition Zero. Just right-click it on games, and click the thing to cancel it. Tah-dah.
EDIT: Not mention they charge 30$ for an expandsion for a free mod on an ancient engine and they say it's special price *cough*
They DO have a choice. While its defaulted on, they have the choice to cancel it, even at 1%.
True, but I have to agree that downloading by default is wrong. It seems weird that people have to actively indicate that they do not want the program to use their bandwith and harddrive space for something they cannot use.
I already have CS ¬_¬

It should have been turned off by default in the first place...
But then again seeing how this is being marketed to CS players, they'd obviously be too dense to know how to turn it on to download their precious locked game...

I'll give it less than a week...
Like... you'd think you'd have to pay for it BEFORE you downloaded it... this is just inviting all levels of shenanigans.
I've always loved CS, just hated the hackers and campers and AWP skanks that populated the servers. So single player CS = teh winz0r in my opinion.
P.S. Chek the avatar, baby. I love you, supernorn.
[EDIT] Skank instead of a more commonly used word [/EDIT]
The Ritual Missions. THat was all I was gonna get it for anyway.
