O.k, I have one. There's a rumour going around that there is a 3rd ending to the original MGS, but no-one has unlocked it yet; is it true? I doubt it somehow, but meh. That rumor isn't true. I've beaten MGS about 9 or 10 times on the same savegame file, nothing is different after getting Bandana, Stealth Suit, and the Tux. So I'd say no, you can file that with "Sheng Long as secret boss in Street Fighter 2". :P
p.s. its "nuclear-equipped walking death-mobile." ;)

Here's a nice easy one. What's the only kind of round that's able to penetrate Metal Gear Rex's armour according to Otacon?
Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of other games that are on your memory card (Like in the PS one he refered to some Konami games if they were saved on the same memory card)
I never had any other Konami games on my card so I wouldn't know <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

There's a 3rd game it mentions but it was something silly I didn't play. It shoulda been Metroid Prime, but meh. I think it was F-Zero but I'm not sure.
Sadly, the "Hideo Kojima respects Mr. Miyamoto too" line isn't in the game, I guess that was for the E3 trailer only :(
<!--QuoteBegin-Black Mage+Mar 12 2004, 12:06 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Black Mage @ Mar 12 2004, 12:06 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->are the two 'tricks' with meryl still in? I couldn't get the vent trick to work, but I don't remember it all that well, so maybe I wasn't doing it right. The bathroom trick does still work though ;)
Oh and as far as what penetrates Rex, my guess would be depleted uranium but that's a wild guess. :P
Here's a toughie: The mercs that were contracted to the Genome Army, where did they all originally come from (that is, where were they before the US Govt. bought out their contracts)?
The answer to Steve's question is a HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) round. You couldn't get THAT? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It's a shame though, because my MGS1 disk is scratched beyond repair. How did this happen? Well I was having a new CD ROM put in, and I kind of forgot to take the disc out first, and rather than just plug it in to another computer and take it out that way, I decided to go in with a pair of plyers. Not a great idea on reflection.

Also the missing sound file is something that MGS does on Windows XP. It just doesn't work with it :( Later in the game (right before you fight Rex) the game actually gets stuck in a state and it won't trigger the next cutscene no matter what, even after you leave the area and etc.
