Christian Bale (American Psycho) as Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Sgt. Jim Gordan
Liam Neeson as Henri Ducard (the mentor)
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox (Bruce Wayne's business partner)
Ken Watanabe (Last Samurai) as Ra's al Ghul (the villain)
Katie Holmes as Rachel (the love interest)
Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) as Jonathan Crane (the Scarecrow)
Larry Holden as DA Fisk

i'm psyched.. unlike previous batman director's tim burton and especially joel schumacher, nolan is a big fan himself and will actually stay true to the comics.

    I'm especially excited about Christian Bale as batman. The rest of the cast seems excellent too.

    Is this one going to be aimed at kids like the last 3, or aimed at adults like the first one Tim Burton did?

    With Christian Bale as Batman, well.. at least it'll be psychotic...

    But Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon? I'll be using LEON and Bram Stoker's Dracula lines all through the movie. :P

    So what's the story on this one? I stopped keeping up on the piles of batman movies they were supposed to be making but didn't.

    I really liked the batman 1 and batman 2. After that it went downhill. I disliked the hollywood junk they added in there. I really liked the batman animated series they had. The ideas were quite interesting for that show.

    Scarecrow can be an interesting villain if they let him. Supposedly he has this gas that can make you see what you fear most in front of you.

    Hollywood would probably put in really poor actors. "Ah.. I have snakes in my hair. Oh no! Help me!" Bah. Nicole Kidman's good name was disgraced in the 3rd batman movie.

    Just to inform you all this is a prequal! The screen play is based on Batman Year One, that is why Christian Bale was chosen for the role e.g. youngness.

    Actually, due to the massive amounts of toy sales and the majority of the audence for the first film being children (hell, I was one of em) and Batman Returns was toned down slightly from the first one, but yeah it was still very good.

    you know batman beat superman in the comics once. he built a huge metal exoskeleton and when superman came to fight him he doused the area with a krytonite spray and kicked the crap out of him. superman dented his armor a bit, but in the end batman was standing over superman's crumpled heap of a body with superman admitting defeat, that is until he died of heart failure right there on the battlefield, or so readers thought. later on robin dug up his grave and revived batman. apparently batman used a toxin that slowed his heartbeat to simulate death.
