<div class="IPBDescription">Fix some annoying WinXP things...</div>These tweaks are w/ WinXP in mind, so try them on non-XP OS's at your own risk.

The one I like the most is this:
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Remember more folder view settings </b>
Windows often forgets folder view settings. There's no way to fix it, but you can improve things a litle bit:
1) Tools/Folder Options/View/Advanced Settings/Remember each folder's view settings.
2) Edit HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell. Right-click "Shell", New/Key/DWORD/Value, name BagMRU Size, Decimal value 2000
3) Edit HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam. Right-click "ShellNoRoam", New/Key/DWORD/Value, name BagMRU Size, Decimal value 2000
XP will now remember 2000 folder view settings instead of 400.
However, windows has a life of it's own and will often change your settings anyway.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Woo, now maybe w/ the increased cache size windows sill stop being a dink and keep my stuff in List view... :X

anyway... in responce to the original post: I did that a couple years ago, it works ok, although it still refuses to remember the folder settings on my desktop for more than a day, and once a week it likes to change a random folder to default view.
