I think the marine start you have there is going great. The boxes are a bit much, and instead maybe there should be some actual barrieres as said before.
I liked the alien hiveroom with the doors from the ready room looking in, they were very nice. I dont think that any sounds from the RR would be a problem at all in that situation. But maybe instead of the RR being on the same level of the hive, you could add a more dynamic level to it.
I made this paint picture to help. The blue is the ready room, the red is part of the game map (not RR area) and the red with squiggly line is a window. So when you drop down into the window, you spawn in the aliens position. Oh and the green is where the hive would be.

Instead of barriers, make something that the marines could kinda use for cover -- a dipdown into the marine start...heres another awsome paint picture to help me explain.
The red is the floor. The blue is the ramp. The lower section of red is marine start floor, and that green blob is, yes, the armoury. This low ramp gives the marine something to ...crouch to? And would also make it harder for onos to assault the marine spawn, for devour wouldnt reach down as far.

Okay, this is probably a REALLY stupid idea and will probably cause a lot of lamers and nubs to wreak havoc, but how about this:
That window in MS, it should be breakable. When it does get broken, a whole heap of push entities should force everyone out the window into a trigger_hurt, with a really loud WHOOSH sound. After a (very) short delay, an alarm should sound and a bulkhead over the window should close, sealing off the window and disabling all the push entities and the whooshing sound.
Wouldn't that be the height of coolness? Like I said before, if it were implemented it would be exploited by skulks and marine lamers alike, but it would be funny to watch everyone get sucked out a window and depressurised!
I don't expect you to actually put this in the map, but if it was, maybe it could only be broken by a skulk bite?

And overal would be in great advantage of the alien team. So a map using this on the ingame map wont be very playable/enjoyable as marine.
