    Yay
    I saw the SP and MD Demo Yesterday on TV -> GIGA Games (<a href='http://www.giga.de/gigagames' target='_blank'>www.giga.de/gigagames</a>)
    (they will do it today and tomorrow once more on NBC Europe at 2200 CET [in german!])

    and ure right it ROCKS.

    Super intelligent KI, extreme good looking enviroment and as far as I know a perfect story.
    We will see when it comes out!

    It's basically a small-scale peer to peer network like Kazaa, except for just one file. Its usefulness varies wildly depending on how many people are downloading the same file.

    Thing is theres no mention of the demo on any of the Far Cry related Websites, and will it run on My GeForce 2?     run on gf2? with the viewdistance and gfx in far cry its better for u to just go out and look at nature irl, or get a new card.

    Problem is I don't want to buy a new card.

    I have University to save for. I'd rather have cash at Uni then buy a graphics card to play a game demo I may not like and wait for games like Half-Life 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R which have even more impressive graphics IMO then Far Cry. I mean S.T.A.L.K.E.R has the same viewdistance yet it still works on a GeForce 2. Hell even DOOM3 will probably run on older cards.

    I think I'll just wait for them and perhaps pick up Far Cry as a budget or something later.

    To be honest Half-Life 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and DOOM 3 rank much higher on my "Stuff I want to play" list.

    Far Cry is a guy in the jungle with a milita and some "Evil Thing". S.T.A.L.K.E.R is almost the same thing but with a much better setting and frankly the whole idea of running around an accurate Chernobyl appeals slightly more than a walk around some Island.

    I'm in the mp beta for this gem, and while I can't say too much about it, I do think I'm allowed to say that you're in for a treat.

    And Venmoch, Stalker will be vastly differentfrom Far Cry. Take each experience for what they are. Comparing them right now is just silly.

    The demo has not yet been officially released - giga.de is famous for sliming around and releasing games early against developer wishes (they did it to the NS 2.0 release as well). Links nuked, do not post them again.

    Now that it leaked early from the giga.de snapperheads, the Crytek/Ubisoft guys opened up the demo for release and let it be mirrored in many locations (see <a href='http://www.bluesnews.com' target='_blank'>http://www.bluesnews.com</a> for a list). You can discuss as you wish, and download to your heart's content.

    Very true, but the folks at /. were kind enough to examine BitTorrent and found no spyware, worms, or viruses in it. This does <b>NOT</b> mean that files transfered on it don't contain spyware, worms, or viruses, just that Bit Torrent folks themselves don't implement any of that nasty stuff.
