<div class="IPBDescription">For Owens new mod</div> Im making an XM8 (h&ks new project) for Owens HL2 mod, Township Rebellion. Its not done yet, and has a couple of errors that i need to fix. Tell me what you think, and i would love some constructive criticism.

BTW the lines you see are the grooves of the plastic (yes its made of plastic).

Also the smoothing on the butstock looks wierd + that its to flat.. but you will only see that in 3rd person view to... nice model overall but I hate when people dont throw som extra polys onto the magazine to make it rounder.. so please do that... other than that its relly nice I think.. a good model of a ugly rifle <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Oh and if you have polys to spare add details cuz flat skinned on details is not as good looking as 3 dimensional once <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I say use a ref picture and scale it after that.. if its like the ref but looks short.. than it should be short.
Oh and also Chet. just cuz its a model for HL2 it doesnt mean that you can use too many polys sure they consists of more polys than the hl once but the main thing making them look better is the much more advanced rendering in the HL2 engine so use the polys wisely.. or make a mod for super computers <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

According to the <a href='http://collective.valve-erc.com/' target='_blank'>VERC</a> the polygon budget for weapon view models is around 2000, including hands. While the engine probably will handle high poly models, don't bother wasting your time making ridiculously high poly models, only to find out later that the hours of hard work you put into it were for nothing.

AKA: gona have to make it low poly, it will look better with hl2's little goodies
