What Has The Internet Taught You?

<div class="IPBDescription">Just like the topic says...</div> Hopefully this doesn't get considered a spam thread, thinking we can all come up with some interesting personal insight as to what we've encountered during our stay here on the intarweb, rules are simple, just state one thing (just one) thing that you've noticed and or learned while browsing.

I'll start it off...

I've learned that if it can be considered a fetish, someone's already got a website dedicated to it. Proceed!

That the world is far, far, FAR, more petty than I could ever imagine.

That and a wide range of general knowledge that would awe people from pre-intarniit times.

Basically what [WHO] said, the world can look so much prettier if you've been in your house for one whole day doing nothing but working out your fingers. Oh and that waking up to sunshine and birds chirping promotes a better gaming experience (in my eyes it does ^^.)

    Therefore I've concluded that those I hate are idiots <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

What have I learned from the Internet?

That people really are cold-hearted **** who think only of themselves and do nothing but exploit others for personal gain.

Also that the stupidest little animations are sometimes the most entertaining. And that some of the funniest people out there aren't in the comedy business.

Also, while the internet has shown me wonderous things, it has also shown me that <i>yes</i>, there really are people out there that masturbate to japanese cartoons. I pity the fool.

-Unfortunately the internet has taught me the REAL meaning of what a "Furry" is and put it in noun form <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> (I refuse to post a link, besides it'd get nuked anyhow)

-The internet has taught me, everything is free, you just have to find it.

-There are a WHOLE LOT of people who are willing to give you ridiculous sums of money for virtual game items.

-There are about a gazillion Nigerian Generals who are god awful at math and are willing to give up 40-80% of their 10-100 million dollar fortune if you'll just give them your credit card number/bank account passcode.

-Pron pop-ups happen the most unlikely of places (and un-opportune times, "Hiya Boss!").

-Everyone is a jerk, some just less so than others.

-99% of the teenagers on the net need a good spanking, a slap in the face, and a box of soap to wash their filthy mouth out with. To heck with respect your elders, let's just get them to the point where they can hold a conversation without blasting someone else with their scum bucket of a tounge. Yes, conversations DO exist where you don't belittle other people!

-Military folks on the net come in two flavors, the extremely smart ones who are great to hang around with and can hold a conversation on virtually anything with, and the ones who think an ethernet plug is some type of link with god (get it? ether? god? ye... oh forget it...)

-RIAA is the devil and so is the DMCA (speaking of which try either of these two terms in Google)

-Lots of people are <a href='http://www.abovetopsecret.com' target='_blank'>PARANOID</a> beyond belief, then again, in this day and age some of these people are actually starting to make some sense *shudder*.

-Without an ad blocker, your screen is guranteed to look somewhat like a tetris game gone bad in 5 minutes flat.

-Money DOES grow on trees (http://www.treeloot.com, it's full of crap and spyware and such so go there only if you're obsessed with getting up to date <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)

-Everyone knows what your doing on the web all the time(<a href='http://www.spychecker.com/spyware.html' target='_blank'>Spyware</a>)

    -Brunnetes do it better...apparently.

-<a href='http://www.hamsterdance.com/' target='_blank'>Hamster's</a> bring the house down baby.

-<a href='http://www.overclocked.org/OCzerowing.htm' target='_blank'>ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US</a> (I must agree with this)

-Japanese people will do <a href='http://www.spiketv.com/shows/meec/' target='_blank'>ANYTHING</a> to get on TV for 10 seconds.

    -Bittorent is addictive like crack

    -MonsE needs a haircut

-Some foolish game companies still don't realize that games get popular via <a href='http://www.penny-arcade.com/' target='_blank'>word of mouth</a>.

    -Moo Cows pwn.

    -<a href='http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/' target='_blank'>Ctrl-Alt-Delete</a> doesn't just restart your computer nowadays.

What's the net taught me? That humanity is a sexual species. We have a massive system for the distribution of the accumulated knowledge of some 5000 years of human history and what is 90% of it used for? Porn.

I have learnt from the Internet that there are far more idiots in the world than I could of possibly imagined.

I have learnt from the internet that downloading anything over 10MB on a 56k modem is both tiring and incredibly frustrating, and all the more when ADSL users download the same thing 2 hours after you and yet manage to get it before you.

I have learnt that Mods are my saviour, and can bring many months (or years) of life into an already completed or dated game.

Leaking Games is possibly the most stupid (and I've seen the I&S forum) and selfish thing I've ever seen on the internet, (My poor Half-Life 2 release date......woe is me! )

Downloading films or leaked/Retail Games off the internet without paying a penny isnt right. I'm proud that the area around my computer is littered with the Cases and boxes of the games and movies I spent my hard earned cash on.

The Natural-Selection community rocks. Dont ever die on me!
