I Saw Something Weird In The Sky
<div class="IPBDescription">today</div> I was walking back from the bus stop on the way home from school and usually, I check the sky to admire the wonder and beauty of it. I find it most interesting when it turns orange, pink, purple, or red, and today I saw something even more weird. A small dot in the sky, like a star, but 20 times brighter than the brightest star at night, was shining ever so brightly, and not moving. As of that moment my father and mom drove up in the driveway where I was at the time standing, I checked to look at the car and quickly looked back up, but it dissappeared.
So, what do ya suppose it was?

EDIT: It was a glitch in the Matrix...
And on a more serious note, it was probably just a speck of dirt on your eye...
It was very ominous.
Exactly what I thought Trevelyan, and on another note, the sky was clear.
I would rule UFO's out of the picture, because it wasn't "flying."
But ohnos, it could've been a phasegate 30 miles up?#@#YAYA?
More seriously, I'd guess an airplane. If it was high enough in the sky, it wouldn't appear to be moving much. Still, the fact that it disappeared so quickly...I dunno.
*being american*
what? WHERE?!
Well, I didn't know planets could be pure dazzling diamond white eh?
Marik, I really don't think this could have been an airplane, because the airplanes by our city usually can be heard and whatnot, but this wasn't audible and airplane lights don't shine as bright and concentrated in a dot in broad daylight. But I really don't know...

I understand that much, but I was thinking about the reflection of the sun on such a big hunk of shiny metal. You're still right though, it sounds a bit too odd to be an airplane. I guess your local government would just use a weather balloon excuse, eh?
Most magnesium/aluminum type flares and such are incredibly bright and can easily be seen from many kilometers. You'd probably need a pretty descent rocket to get it high up(if it wasn't close to the horizon)
Note: supernovas become much brighter over a period of months or weeks before they fade away, you can be your **** that it would have been on the news for weeks.
Seriously?
