Wait I think I got what you were saying earlier...

You were joking that WW1 was balanced and look how it kill hundreds of thousands of people and devastated countrysides. Now if NS is balanced.... Doom has come to this land!

Or was it not a joke. In that case I apologize to anyone I may have offended by making light of a brutal war. It may be like the South Park episode "Jared has A.I.D.es", for anyone who gets that reference.

Or were you talking about WWonline?

imo RFK is the downfall of NS2.0, ive always disliked it and don't think it's necessery in this game

also, individual skill can make comebacks and 2.0x has pretty much removed this for 80% teamwork needed

At least 25% of the posts in this thread, are completely irrelevant.GG.

Im not saying bring 1.04 back.I dont want to.1.04 was fun,in a way,but it seriously got boring when people realised jp/hmg > all.

Someone posted that 2 hive lockdowns can now happen to both teams in 2.01.This is correct.Think back on your memories of 1.04 2hls.Aliens usaully sat there and waited to die right?Well fast forward to 2.01.Most of the time,i see aliens owning so badly, marines cant even get out of base for 10 minutes. How is this different? The marines are just sitting to die. Then we look at the alien side.Aliens get owned so badly, they are forced down to 2-3 RTs max, while marines control the rest of the map and frag like crazy. How is this really different from 2hls in 1.04?Any fade or onos that appears will appear too late.

When i see stuff like 1 vs 4-5 rts at 5 minutes,i can tell you right now that marines will lose unless suddenly their skill improves dramatically.Or 4 vs 1 for aliens.Same thing.

Just as a note: I played on a server where JP/HMG was banned, and the teams were even with clan people. Aliens STILL got owned, HA HMG wasn't that much longer from JP HMG as it was made out to be.
Playing marines on that server was more fun than usual though.

    Hehehehe desperate strategies!

I remember one game on...........omg what is that map with the Nanogrid Status double res?

I never really pay attention to the map's name.

Anyway we were pinned beyond remedy in our base, the aliens had taken over the entire map and were rushing us non-stop with redeeming onoses and acid-flinging fades.

We were holding well because we had like six HAs (including me) placed on the balcony at the Rine start, with an armory also placed on that balcony, and we all had HMG.

    Here's the strategy:

One brave volunteer was to grab an HMG and a jetpack.....and go on a solo suicidal mission to destroy the hive in Sub!!!

(the poor fella was ripped to strips in about thirty seconds.....but hell that was fun! We held for like an hour before being overwhelmed by the ENTIRE alien team (15 people) onosed in a coordinated rush)

Whatever gave you guys the idea that this was a thread to discuss your "gg memories"?I mean does the thread title say "Whats the best games you ever had?" or "What was the most exciting battle you had?"I dont think so....

ns_veil didn't exist in 1.04, so this must have been a 2.0x experience. Maybe it was just a typo of yours.

Reckless play in the first few minutes is what makes them so important. If people would play more carefully, then the game would be more close. The games get decided quicker on the vet servers seemingly, because more experienced players take advantage of opportunities quicker and with deadly efficiency. On normal servers, you get constant blundering from both sides and the game gets stretched on for that reason.

RFK is both good and bad. On one hand, the threat of giving away res for every death should curtail idiotic rushing. On the other hand it creates an urge to gamble for the res. I don't blame it as much as I blame the general lack of strategical consideration done by players.

If people would actually put more emphasis on strategy, then you wouldn't get skulk soup or marine buffet. You'd get the long drawn out games that you are looking for.
