The Spectre is someone I refuse to play against, simply because i'm not yet convinced he doesn't cheat. One game he had over 100 fade kills without a single death, and this is on mongo and knoids j2 server which is hardly noob central usually.

Then I was thinking about this thread--imagine SHAMPOO in Quake 3! He'd rail you from 5000 feet away going on those jump pads in the opposite direction!

Forlorn, I have played on some of the US servers with 400 ping and droped wave after wave of aliens while holding 1 position or run around dropping marines with no trouble at all. If you go by public play your only joking your self. HAMPTON server is the only server i know of in the world which is worthy of playing on even then some times it dosn't come up to scratch.
One of the aus guyz said, it works both ways, unless you know where to play your going to be stuck with people who have only just started playing the game, i know a few aussies only play on HAMPTON since there is no where besides there that most the time have good players.
but if owning people that have only played for a short period rocks your boat go for it, but you don't have to go to australia to find a **** server there is more then enough in america.

anyhow from playing against them and speccing them in demos, I get the sense that they are very careful and determined with their aim, whereas I am biased toward dodging more so than careful aim.

I think I do remember the game you're talking about, but it was on another server. And that was just a lucky streak I guess.
I also don't really see what kind of cheat would help that much with fading... Wallhack could be helpful to tell where the marines are, but I don't see how it could make someone's fading significantly better.
