<div class="IPBDescription">today another ns pic</div> yup like i promised, try and draw one everyday..
thank god this one only took 7 and a half hrs and yes i DID do all of the pic, even the bg, the details took a tonne of layers and zooming in..
38 layers
7 hrs and 38 mins
enjoy.
i didnt put astory to this because i think it looks good like it is. though ill put the story here
-The Hive-
A trail of infestation led to the computer core
The core had recently been shut down due to failure
The marines entered the now unfamiliar room
Webs and wet infestation was everywhere
Entering to the opening of the core
The marines stood in shock and disbeleif
They had entered very dangerous territory
edit:: reloaded the pic , made the hive darker it was a little too brihgt, added a few slight touch ups, barely noticable.

*edit* About the pic, I think it looks sweet, but to me the investation seems a bit too bright, it kinda looks like it´s glowing. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

it looks like the comp core in my head <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> and slightly simaler to comp core in game.
Have you won a fade of the week yet?
skip FotW, Give her a Gorge of the MONTH!

Your work is the best <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
dark rooms are scary, but its even cooler seeing the slight outline of a fade sneaking around in the dark corners between the spotlights.

breif rundown how theyre made
- sketch on paper. slightly detailed
-transferred to adobe and layered
- starting from the background i then move to the foreground with each new layer. though if slime is involved it ALWAYS gets its own seperate layer, just incase i dont like it because i do it all zoomed in really close.
that egg in the hive pic heres the run through
8 layers
layer 1- the back of the egg sack
layer 2- the liquid inside the sack,
layer 3- skulk outline
layer 4- skulk coloured and detailed
layer 5- skulks infestation on it and the cord things
layer 6- liquid allover the skulk inside the egg sack, more realistic feeling
layer 7- the fron ot the egg sack, then detailed about with veins and transparency to slightly see the skulk inside, more realistic as the birth of something in an egg sack the sack is usually transparent like
layer 8- the slimes on the egg from it coming out of the hive..
a fair few layers for a simple thing, which actually isnt simple eh?
dun bother me, i enjoy it
the bg on comp core took a while that was umm ,, letsee,,
well my art pc aint on atm so i cant tell.. but considering each wall had their own seperate infestation layer, the computer screen thing had around 4 layers cus the computer screen and keypad were different layers so i could do them right, prob about 16 layers behind the hive, 11 layers infront of the hive. the hive was 7 layers i think.
bleh soo many cant remember
I just can't see the silhouette of the hive that much.
Other than that, its another awesome job!
