<div class="IPBDescription">URGH! Bloody ads!</div> Jesus CHRIST I am sick of Gamespy networks ads....
Up until recently we've all had to contend with those annoying flash ads with a crap load of sound, annoying animations and tiny tiny closing areas....
Now they've resorted to taking up 40% of the monitor space to host their crappy ads I couldn't give a crap in hell for. My monitors res is 1280x1048, that is 420 pixels high of pure marketing crap eschered upon me...
Look at this attached pic... I can't even SEE the damn news. I gotta scroll down to it... Jesus chriminy tap toing christ I hate this kind of crap when I surf.

talk about selling out...
Norton rules!
lol@ that....
First of all the adds are built-in, not popups.
second, what firewall do you use that blocks advertisments? heh.
In my experience you dislike most things.
Norton Internet Security
Note: This is NOT a pop-up. It is <b>EMBEDDED INTO THE PAGE</b>....
Give your DNS or whatever crap a while to update... you'll see it, eventually....
Yes. And download a new graphics card for your Xbox... er.... ollllddddd joke...
it's called sleep...
100% secure, 100% ad free, 100% yummy.... jump on the sleep train with me

I get no problems with mine though, yay firebird. I'll try it with IE... nope, still nothing. The ad monkeys must like Infinitum 0.o

Maybe because they have that desktop-resolution detector?? Because when I typed in the URL it first came up with an ad page with 'Continue to Planethlaflife.com' button on the top-right.
5 Star reviews: In the forum everyone was shouting "change it back, please!" ....but it's still there, and just as stupid as ever (for scientific accuracy: not everyone was saying it...GSI members don't count).
Links on the front page DO NOT go to the stories....wth is this? If I click on a story, it damn well better bring me to the story....but nooooo it brings me to the PS2 or XBox or PC page....and if you go back (with the yesterday buttons on the main page) you wont even be able to find the stories.
...20 trillion 'developer interviews' on games you never heard of and newer care to.
Obsessive 'FilePlanet subscriber only' stuff.
Giant embedded ads...I think they're flash based, but they move and make noice AND annoy people (3 for 1 deal...).
...there was some other stuff, but I'm either to lazy to write it or I forgot it for the moment. So....that's why I go to ign.com now....because Gamespy is almost as bad as Gamespot now. They may have one front page pop up, and only allow 3 downloads a day, but it's far superior to gamespy and gamespot. Gah, just going to gamespy.com just now has enraged me.
I'm off to take horse tranqualizers and to beat myself with a frozen fish...just because of gamespy.
<i>Didn't think so</i> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Please - realize circumstances and think before you say such incredibly stupid things as "lol...talk about selling out... ," hit yourself in the testicular region until you realize how narrow-minded you're being <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Please realize the implications of such a mass amount of webspace with little retail cpapbilities, as it were. <b>Think, and you'll understand.</b>
(I apologize for the mean attitude - I'm just <b>damn</b> tired of all the Gamespy-bashing that seems to be so popular nowadays. If you dislike Gamespy, get your news somewhere else. It's as simple as that.)
Would you rather put up with ads? Or would you rather pay a fee to gamespy to see their site?
(I choose option C, <a href='http://www.shacknews.com' target='_blank'>Shacknews</a>)
<a href='http://asp.flaaten.dk/proxo/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1691' target='_blank'>http://asp.flaaten.dk/proxo/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1691</a>
Get yourself a good gamespy account.
Be happy with 0 ad surfing.
